About Me

Right now I am serving a mission in Texas and I love it. I love to go camping and hanging out with my buddies. I loved growing up in Utah and all the awesome adventures I had with my friends in the mountains and our little neighborhood. I am so grateful for my family and the great memories we have together and I am excited one day to start my own.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know it is what God wants me to be. It is so amazing to me that I can ask my Father in Heaven and he will answer my prayers about what ever I ask. I remember the time that it really mattered to me to find out if what I had been taught my whole life was really true. I remember the hours of study I put into it and the time I spent praying and asking God if the church I had been raised in was true. As I got my answer I never had any huge neon signs and I never saw God but I remember the feeling I had and I knew at that moment that what I had been taught was true and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was Gods one and only church. That was pretty cool. It is nice being told that from your parents, friends and family but hearing it from God is by far the best. Knowing this brings so much peace, comfort, and direction to my life. I know that what I believe is true and I know that if any one has the desire they can know as well.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Prayer is a huge part of my life. I love that I can communicate when ever I need to talk with my Father in heaven. It is a huge relief when I am in need and it is so awesome to be able to build a relationship with my Father through prayer. With out the ability to talk with God I don't know where I would be.

How I live my faith

Right now in my life one of the biggest ways I live my faith is by serving the Lord 24/7 for two years. I made the decision to serve a mission and it is the best choice I ever made. It has not always been easy or fun but the things I have learned from serving the Lord in this way are priceless. I try and serve others as much as I can. I look at the Savior and how he lived his life. He always showed so much love and charity to those around them through service. I think the greatest way we can live our faith is by modeling our life after Jesus and that is what I try and do. I am not perfect but I do my best.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

It is as easy as asking God. God knows everything and is more than willing to give you guidance when you are in need. If you have a desire to know and have faith that God will answer you then an answer will come through the holy Ghost. Pay attention to your feelings, if you feel peace and comfort as you pray about Mormonism that is God telling you that it is true.

Before I was baptized, a missionary told me that I could read the Book of Mormon and find out for myself if it was true. I liked that idea. I've always been a person who wanted to know the truth for myself. After the missionary had suggested I read it, I decided to try. It was a big step of faith to pick up a book and read it without knowing for sure. Over time, I developed a testimony that the Book of Mormon is true.

The same goes for knowing if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true Church of Christ once again established on this earth. A simple prayer to your Heavenly Father can open so many doors of truth.

The real way that I know it is true is how it has helped my life. Without the Church, I'd be lost. I am grateful for it, and for the knowledge I have that it is true.

Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

Why did Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David and Solomon practice plural marriage? Because God told them to. So why did Mormons practice polygamy? Because God commanded us to. There is nothing new about the concept of polygamy. It is only a tool that the Lord sees fit to put in place on his own time.

Any other reasons for it are God's reasons and the fact of the matter is that an all knowing, perfected being, who also happens to be the father of our spirits commanded that it should be done. It really all comes down to your faith in God.
