Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because i was born in the church. I continue to follow his gospel because I know others, who are older, who have followed the gospel for their lives and they're so kind and giving, somewhat different than those who aren't in the church, they just seem more genuine. I decided i want to be like that.

How I live my faith

What i do in my ward is i'm the sacrament coordinator, it's pretty simple i just make sure the sacrament is ready for our main sunday meeting. I also go to our ward choir practices we sing really pretty arrangements of our hymns which is fun.

The best explanation I've Heard of why men have the priesthood but woman don't is paraphrased and speculative "when you have the priesthood the only way you can use it by helping others, you can't give yourself a priesthood blessing someone else has to give you the blessing. It's already in a woman's nature to help others, they're kind and giving already but, it's not always the case for men. Men get something they can only use to help others in the hopes that they will learn to be more willing to help others." I like this explanation because it makes a lot of sense to me.

Family is very important in the church for more reasons than can be explained here. Holding the priesthood is just one of these reasons. Husbands act and bless their family with their priesthood, but wives benefit and honor the priesthood through their husbands. It is a symbiotic relationship. As I have participated in the church in various activities I have come to understand my importance as a woman in the church. There cannot be one without the other.

Mormons believe that we are commanded to love all people as sons and daughters of God, regardless of age, sex, race, or sexual orientation. However, we believe that homosexual behavior is a serious sin and in direct violation with the commandments of God. We believe that marriage, between a man and a woman, is ordained of God.
