About Me

I am a college student studying music. I love singing, acting, dancing, and anything performing. I love being able to communicate through music and share with others through song. I also really enjoy sports, especially soccer. I have played soccer since I was 6 and I absolutely love the game.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that this church is true. I know that this church follows the same organization that existed when christ was on the earth. I'm a member of this church and continue to follow this gospel because I have read the Book Of Mormon and know that the teaching of the book are inspired and from God. This church brings me so much happiness and more joy than I can put into words. I know that its true with all of my heart and I know that the prophets and apostles are called of God and have the keys and ordinances of the priesthood that will bring us back to our Father in Heaven Someday.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by participating in programs for the youth. I attended 4 years of early morning classes at my school so that I can have Seminary, a church class that studies the scriptures, during the day. I attend many service projects and help in any way I can to serve others. I help with the music in church as we sing hymns to bring in the spirit.

What do Mormons believe about family?

We believe that the family is central to the creators plan for the eternal destiny of his children. Family is the most important unit, and we believe that our family relationships will last forever and not only in this life. We believe that families can be together forever and that even after death, our relationships with those who we love will not end. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ and the temple ordinances, what "we seal on earth will be sealed in Heaven" Matthew 16 19. The sealing power that is found in the temple can make these eternal family relationships possible.

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.

What is being a Mormon like?

Many people think that being a Mormon is very strict and holds people back from experiencing all that life has to offer. However, I know that it is the exact opposite. In The Book of Mormon, an ancient governor named Pahoran tells us that the spirit of God is the spirit of freedom. I know this principle to be true. The things of the world bind us with feelings of guilt, sorrow, envy, hatred, doubt, judgment, chaos, and confusion. The things of God bring peace, contentment, happiness, joy, satisfaction, clarity, and love. Through family relationships, The Book of Mormon, communication with a loving Father in Heaven, repentance, baptism, church attendance, and making sacred promises in God's holy temple, I have experienced these feelings of freedom. Being a Mormon is not just something I do, it is who I am! Mormonism is not just a belief, it is a lifestyle. This lifestyle has provided me with clarity, purpose, value, and direction. I will forever proclaim the truthfulness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! It is Christ's true church upon the earth. It is the pathway to true joy in this life and the life to come!
