Hi, I'm Britta
I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I'm a sophomore in college, and I am an Exercise Science major. I want to be physical therapist who works with special needs children. I have a younger brother with special needs and I want to help other kids like him to develop their abilities as far as they are able. I want to find a way to give service and to help other people. I want to follow Christ's example and be the best me I can be and to help others to become their best selves. I love being a Mormon because it gives me an anchor, a foundation that I can never lose, no matter how crazy and confusing life gets. Christ is my elder brother, He loves me, more than I can comprehend. He helps me to get through each day as I fall and struggle to get back up. He is always there!
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon because of the faith that I have developed from years of searching the scriptures, praying and fasting. I grew up in the church, but like most people, I have had my doubts and questions. I haven't had any huge revelations, but I see the affirmation of my faith in little things everyday. My testimony has grown through intense pondering and heartfelt prayer and I can finally say without a doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. The Lord lives and He knows each of us individually. Our Father in Heaven loves each of us and cherishes us as His children. The Father and the Son visited Joseph Smith in the Sacred Grove. Through him they reestablished the true church on the earth. Today, His prophet Thomas S. Monson leads and guides us. Christ atoned for our sins, each and every one. I really don't understand the Atonement but I feel its truth and its effects in my life. I'm very grateful that I am able to repent and have the heavy burden of sin removed from me as I change and become better. I am grateful for my family and I am so grateful for the Plan of Salvation that allows my family to live together for ever. Because of this knowledge, I know that death is not the end and I am able to go forward in faith.
How I live my faith
I've been called as the 2nd Counselor of the Relief Society (the women's organization) in my student ward. I'm really enjoying this calling and I feel like I really get to serve and feel the aide of our Savior. I get to feel a little part of His love for each woman I serve. I'm also preparing for an 18-month mission in a year or so, and I really can't wait for it! In the fall I'm going to Romania to work in orphanage and children's hospital for a semester! I can't wait to go! I'm really excited to go and serve those children. The orphanage is for children with special needs and I can't wait to meet them all and find ways to show them my love and desires to help them to become the best they can be.
