I am currently attending college to become a Network Administrator/Professional. I also do community service refurbishing computers to donate to those in need. I am married to a wonderful lady from Japan. I actually lived in Japan for a couple of years; that's where I met her. I love spending time with her speaking Japanese, eating, and watching movies/tv (anime, cartoons, and cooking). I like to play basketball. And of course, I like to learn more about computer networking.
I was born a member of this church. However, through my parents' divorce my family slowly fell away from the church. Throughout my teenage years I only attended church a few times. I felt that there was a God, but did not believe in anything really. Right after my senior year of high school I reflected on life. I would think, "What's the purpose of continuing school, or getting a job, or starting a family, if there is nothing after this life?" I was thinking of these things constantly and was very troubled. Things in my life were okay, but I was very scared of the future. One of my main goals was to have a happy family and do good in life, but as I thought more and more about it, it made no sense to continue to pursue this goal if there wasn't a continuance after this life with my family. I turned to God at this time. I decided to go to the LDS church after a long time of not going. What I heard there shocked me greatly. I felt it was directed toward me and it was exactly what I needed to hear. I thought it might have been a fluke so I attended the next week. Again, the things that were spoken were exactly what I needed to hear and I felt and knew God was directing me back toward truth and happiness. I changed my ways and started to live a happier and better life. I now have a happy family and fulfilling my dreams. This is only through the help of God. I know that the teachings found in this church is what is needed to create a happy family for anyone forever.
In the world today there seems to be mass confusion regarding the purpose of life. We see values and the role of the family in society change as time progresses. However, I feel a lot of people who seriously think about life, think about the purpose of it. I once thought deeply of the purpose of life, and still think about it everyday. Through thorough reading and studying of the Book of Mormon, I was able to find the answer. Not an answer from man or my own imagination...not a made up or fancied answer, but an answer from God. I felt a certain peace and joy that only can come from a heavenly realm. I knew, and still know now, that the contents of the Book of Mormon are inspired of God and no man could ever imagine them up. The Book of Mormon explains perfectly where we came from, why we are here, why we experience the things we do, what benefit this life brings, and the potential we have to become great, live with God and our families again, and to experience eternal joy! This knowledge helps me get through everyday and guides me in every decision I make. I know what my purpose of life is and this helps me have a greater time here with my family. And I know everyone can have the time of there life here and in the eternities by having this knowledge found in the Book of Mormon and living by it.
While I attend school full-time, I attend church every Sunday with my wife. During the week I go out with other members of the church or the missionaries and visit people who are interested in the church and people who have joined the church and are going through hard times. We visit and check up on them and teach about Jesus Christ and God's plan for us. It is a great time to meet new people and share experiences of life and how we came to know what we know.
