Allison: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Allison

I'm Mormon.

About Me

I am a convert to the Church, baptized August 27th, 2010. I am a native to the great state of Arizona where I am currently attending community college, pursuing a degree in psychology, hoping one day to be a family and marriage therapist. I love being busy, sitting still or being in one place is boring to me, so I'm always on the go. I love spending time with my family and friends. I believe smiling and laughing is good for the soul. I love playing sports, softball and basketball are my favorite. I'm a happy person and try to make the best out of every situation.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't looking to join the Church, I was content with where I was in life. I attended a Christian church that I had found while in high school, I was in a youth group I was super involved with and I was set with everything around me; but Heavenly Father had different plans for me, He knew it was my time to find the truth. Through trials and test, I have come to know for myself that this is true Church of Jesus Christ. I have never felt the Spirit so strong than I have while studying the Book of Mormon and searching the scriptures. I constantly feel the Savior's love all around me and for that I am eternally grateful. This Church has brought me so much happiness and peace to my heart. I am forever thankful for the missionaries that taught me and I am forever thankful for the knowledge Heavenly Father has brought to me about the truthfulness of His restored gospel.

Personal Stories

Could you talk about your baptism?

When Mormons grow up in the Church they are usually baptized at the age of eight, which is the age of accountability. However, for myself, I was baptized when I was 18 years old and I couldn't be more happier with my decision. I remember being so happy on that day and feeling the Spirit just burning in my heart and testifying of what I was doing was so right, nothing could wipe that smile off my face. With the proper authority I was baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, just like my Savior was. I was fully emerged in the water; representing the death of old life and the resurrection of new life in Jesus Christ. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity I had to be baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the best person I can be. I am different from most of my friends; I refrain from drinking alcohol, I try not to swear, I'm honest, I dress modestly and I try to observe the Sabbath as best to my ability. It's not always easy, but it is always worth it. I do these things not because they're "rules", but because when I follow them I feel closer to my Savior and Heavenly Father, and that's the best feeling in the world. But the most important thing I try to do is let the light of Christ shine through me.
