I am a student of psychology. I like to collect old books, mostly religious books. Most of all I love to spend time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I found my Savior through a dear friend that would not give up on me. He showed me what it means to be a true disciple of Christ, and the blessings that follow.
I learned that I must surround myself with only good influences that helped to make me a better person.
I have dedicated myself to Christ and His work since my return to the faith that I had once forsaken.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one day at a time. I am far from perfect, but I am getting better. I think that is the only way that a person can live their faith.
Follow our Savior Jesus Christ, when you see that you have fallen short, make the change, and keep on plugging on the path.
Always remember that Christ knows you better than you know you. He paid the price of your many shortcomings. Don't waste His good works, take advantage of having a loving Advocate that will never leave you.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

As I read the scriptures I feel a sense of comfort. I come to realize that I have a loving Father in Heaven that wants all of His children to return to live with Him. It is Him through His Son, Jesus Christ, and through the men that He calls to be prophets that is giving us directions on how to return to live with Him.
I know that all of the scriptures are the true words of God. I know that if a person will read, think about, and apply the lessons contained within the scriptures that they will feel of God's love.
I have felt that feeling in my life. That's how I know.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

It's funny, I used to call the Mormon Church a cult too. I just didn't understand it.

Mormonism isn't weird or strange. Its members don't perform satanic rituals or brainwash teenage boys into walking around from door to door in suits and name tags (nor is anyone forced to -- everyone who chooses to serve a mission does so out of their own free will and choice).
I used to call Mormonism a cult because it seemed foreign and unfamiliar, which I deemed scary. The same thing happened to Jesus' first followers as well: they were accused of cult worship too! Others who understood little of what Mormons truly believe told me lies about so-called "practices" in the church which, in reality, were just made-up stories and falsehoods intended to give the church a bad name.
When it comes down to it, a lot of people just don't understand this church, and lies about it spread like wildfire. Mormons believe that Jesus is the Christ. He is the Savior and the Redeemer of the world, plain and simple.
Is that so weird or cultish?
Today, there are close to fourteen million members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worldwide, and more live outside of the United States than inside. That doesn't seem very cult-like to me!
