Lindsay: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Lindsay

I am a waiter, a cook, a taxi driver, personal shopper, a nurse, and a boo boo kisser also known as a mom. AND...I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 6 years. I am the mother of 2, a five year old and an 18 month old. My family is my joy. We love doing anything and everything together. I am a stay at home mom. It is really challenging at times but very fulfilling. There are little moments that make it all worth it. I enjoy running, quilting, sewing, going to the pool with my kiddos and occasionally reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I recall a particular night, I was overcome with emotion, tears streaming down my face. I decided to call upon the Lord. I expressed to Him all that was in my heart, hoping He would hear me. It is faith that begins with hope. In the lowest of low, as I was on my knees praying to Him, I literally felt warm arms circling themselves around me. It was then that I knew, there was a God. He knew & loved me. It was His love for me that helped my testimony grow. I read the Book of Mormon. With each page I knew of its truthfulness. At the end, I knelt down in prayer to that same Father in Heaven who I knew was there & loved me and asked if the Book of Mormon was true. I immediately felt a burning sensation within my heart & a sure knowledge that it was true. This was just as sure as my knowledge there was a God in Heaven who is my Father, and I was created in the image of Him.
During my reading of the Book of Mormon I learned the necessity of repentance & the attonement. As I was made aware of my wrongs and imperfections I learned to repent, and that’s when I gained a testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ. He is real. His attonement is real.
I have a firm testimony of the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know the gospel was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. He as a young boy was not seeking to get gain, power or to be praised of men. He was pure in heart. The boy Joseph sought the will of God. It was in that moment while praying to the Father seeking truth, He saw God the Father, in physical tangible form and His Son even Jesus Christ, ‘who’s brightness and glory defy all description.’
My testimony hasn't come all at once. My knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been made known unto me through the Holy Ghost, when I have been humble enough to learn. I know as I am more obedient to the commandments and as I show my dedication to the Lord, my knowledge will increase and He will enlighten my understanding.
I know these things to be true.

Personal Stories

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

I that these children who have been paced in my care are my Heavenly Father's children. I want to raise them how He would. I know that as I seek His guidance, He will direct me. This can only be done when there is love and harmony in the home. I know that through prayer, uplifting music, and building family relationships a greater peace and harmony may exist in the home.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith each and every day, not just on Sundays. I do this by saying my prayers morning and night and trying to have a prayer in my heart throughout the day. I read my scriptures in the morning before my little ones wake up. I always want my Heavenly Father to know he is the MOST important thing to me and that's why I put Him first. As a mother I strive to be better, play with my kids a little more, limit TV watching, and take oppourtunities to teach them.

Within our community I strive to be a good neighbor. Interacting and serving all those around me.

Within the church I serve as a teacher to those who are newly baptized members. I have absolutely no training in this aspect, and receive no compensation, but have learned and grown so much in this aspect. I also serve as someone amongst the women to promote Provident Living, financially, spiritually, and temporally.
