Hi, I'm Nicole
I'm a World Traveler, a Thinker, a Humanitarian, and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I have a deep and intense addiction to all things to do with travel: books, airplanes, Europe, night trains, weird food, roadtrips, adventures, museums, etc. I love seeing the world. I love finding causes to stand behind. I love school. I'm a university student studying to be a publishing agent (meaning I love books and learning). I'm a redhead, which has a surprising effect on my personality and outlook on life. I believe in the healing power of service, big and small. I've had the opportunity to work with orphans in Romania which changed me forever. And I fancy myself a writer.
I believe in big goals, big dreams, and living a big life.
Why I am a Mormon
Two words: Peace and Happiness. I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints within which I have learned to grow, flourish, discover my uniqueness and have gained great levels of personal peace and happiness. I am profoundly grateful for this church because it has given me so much more than any other experience, condition, organization or education I have encountered.
There is peace I have found in the Book of Mormon. Peace I have found in learning of and using the Atonement of Jesus Christ. There is happiness in living a Christ-centered life. There is happiness found in living the commandments and principles of the Gospel.
My face offs with unhappiness or disquiet have been few and brief and I lend that much to my firm and resilient knowledge of my loving and personal Heavenly Father and my caring and supportive family.
How I live my faith
I try to live my faith. I do what is taught. I serve, I love, I labor. I work to be educated. I have been a missionary. I have been a church girls camp counselor. I actively seek to feel charity, the pure love of Christ, for others regardless our differences or similarities. I try to do the very best I can and rest in the comfort the Atonement of our Savior provides for what I am lacking.
I believe in what James in the Bible said, "What doth it profit, my bretheren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what faith doth it profit? Even so, faith if it hath not works, is dead." (James 2:14-17)
