Diana Cochran: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Diana Cochran

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I lived across the street from the church and was baptized at the age of 9.

About Me

I am married and have 3 children. I feel very blessed to have them. I love to spend time with my husband and kids outside in the back yard. My 7 year old struggles with Asperger's(high functioning autism). We have been greatly blessed by friends and family who are understanding of our struggles. I have a strong interest in therapies for children with Autism, add, adhd and down sydrome. I am starting school this year and getting my BA in Applied Psychology. It is going to be a long road but I know that I can do it.
I am not a great cook but I love to bake for my family. I hate doing the dishes though!
I love the saying," We may not have it all together but together we have it all."
I just recently joined a stamping/scrapbooking group and I am excited to be involved with them. We sign up to make things and then send them to others in the group.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 9 years old. The missionaries came to our door step and my sister and I invited them in. We were both baptized an later my brother. I usually went to church on my own though and it was very difficult. I longed to have my family attend with me and enjoy the beautiful spirit that I felt. I prayed everyday that they would come with me but it will only happen in our Heavenly Father's time. I love the church. I love that it is the same teachings and the same spirit no matter what church building you go to any where in the world. I have struggled in my life with depression and feeling like I fit in with others. No matter what my Father in Heaven has been there for me and blessed me with finding the most remarkable friends. I know I was blessed with being able to know that My Savior loves me and that He lives. I knew it was true even at a very young age. My testimony of the gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ is still growing. I have struggles day to day just like everyone. I doubt my strength and my patience with everyday life. But when I get on my knees at the end of the day I find peace and comfort knowing that My Father in Heaven and Savior hear my pleas.

Personal Stories

What is hope and what do you hope for?

I have learned that hope is what happens when you wash away your fears. Hope can not exist when you have fear. Hope comes from having faith in something you can't see. Hope is what you replace the negativity with. Hope is what leads you to having faith.
I hope that my family can be together forever.
I have faith that My Heavenly Father will help us be together forever.

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

when I first joined the church as a child I expected that my prayers would be answered with lightening and thunder. I was disapointed but learned quickly that isn't the way it works. As an adult and a mother of three I have been guided in many ways. Most often I receive answers to my prayers by a small voice in my mind. It comes as thoughts in passing or ideas when in need. Sometimes I just ask my self a question and receive a feeling about the answer as to whether it is a good thing or not. I think that if I didn't have the knowledge of the gospel I might consider these things just my own thoughts and ideas but now I can aspire them to the love of my Savior Jesus Christ and his care for me and my family.

How I live my faith

My callings in the church have consisted of putting together play groups, recipe swaps and helping with boy scouts. In the recent past I have taught the children ages 6-7 and now am blessed to teach the 1 1/2 to 3 year olds. I love the little children and feel so loved by them.
