I'm from Puerto Rico, I have two daughters and one grandchild. I'm a teacher and my hobby is scrap-booking.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church since 2002. We know that Heavenly Father lives and loves every member of my family, we felt that feeling every day after our prayers hours and after the reading of the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have the most beautiful call, the Second Counselor of Young Women. I work every day with my daughter, and she felt very happy because she wants to live according to the ordinances of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Absolutely. If God loved his children in ancient times enough to send them, does He love us any less?

Prophets serve at least 2 purposes.

In the past, Christ Jesus personally called prophets, apostles, evangelists, teachers, deacons, etc, according to the Apostle Paul. He uses such leaders to help move His great work forward, because it is through selfless service that we develop Christ-like qualities and allow us to be one with Him so that we may be One with the Father. Having a living prophet allows the Father to teach hitherto new principles or doctrine to all His children. We can always interpret scripture to meet our intimate needs through personal revelation via prayer and communion with the Holy Ghost. But the greatest acts of service are always done through the synergistic power of communities, whether they are a family or a nation. Our Father in Heaven understands this and he communes with his living prophet, Thomas S Monson, in order to bless the lives of all His children regardless of their circumstances or creeds.

Absolutely! Heavenly Father loves us, His children. He loves us so much that He listens to our prayers. He also loves us so much that He has given prophets throughout history to lead us, teach us, and guide us.

We have a living prophet on earth today, Thomas S. Monson, who speaks on behalf of God. We have lots of opportunities today to listen to the words of the living prophets. I invite you to visit http://www.lds.org/study/prophets-speak-today

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Absolutely not! I grew up in the church and I'd say the number of people that I've helped in the church is significantly smaller than the number of people I've assisted out side the church. This is not to say I don't help my fellow church members. We believe that we are all children of our Heavenly Father. And by that reasoning we are all brothers and sisters. I take that to heart and when I see someone in need I try to help to the best of my ability and training. Organized service projects aside, I've helped several stranded motorists on the side of the road. I give food to people I've seen that appear to be hungry on the side of the road. And for a long time, when I was growing up, my dad and I would do Meals on Wheels for those in need. I've volunteered at soup kitchens more recently. And during times of widely known hurricanes, I've volunteered on clean up crews multiple times. There is a song we have in our church called "Because I Have Been Given Much." I don't want to post the entire lyrics here, but they are available on a popular search engine. That song is very poignant to me and has always been near and dear to my heart. Also being a former Boy Scout, I have tried to uphold both the Scout Law and Oath to this day. I love my Heavenly Father, and I love my fellow man and want to do all I can to help others in any way I can.
