Hi, I'm Kiley
I'm a Texan who loves music and exercise. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a mother to three beautiful children. I love living in Texas and hope to never leave it. I have been playing the piano for practically my whole life and also love to sing. I find comfort and peace when I bring music into our home. I also love to exercise. I teach cycle and a weight lifting and conditioning class at our local gym. I need this time to release stress and to see friends on a regular basis.
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon because of the hope that this gospel brings into my life. I do feel like I was a child who always knew. I always felt like the LDS church was true and never had any reason to doubt it. When I was in my teenage years, I realized this feeling of truth wouldn't be enough to help me through temptations and trials. I had to know because I made an effort to know. Because of my fathers inactivity in the LDS church, I knew my faith had to be strong, whatever that faith was. I spent time on my knees and time buried in my scriptures and as promised, an answer came. An answer that I will never be able to deny. So the hope that I have is growing stronger every day. And some of that hope is turning into sure knowledge. I have a sure knowledge that our Savior will come again and redeem us from our sins. I have a sure knowledge that each of us is known personally and matters to our Heavenly Father. I have a sure knowledge that I am a child of God and that if I do all I can do, His Son, Jesus Christ will aid me in returning to Heavenly Father with pride and honor. I love my Father in Heaven and His son, Jesus Christ and I know they love me.
Personal Stories
How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?
I was not raised in a harmonious home. There was constant turmoil and fighting. As a youth, I remember receiving an answer to a sorrowful prayer, while pleading for my family wounds to be healed, that although my current family would never be healed, I would have a chance to choose what type of home I wanted to have as a mother. I have been married for 8 years to a man who isn't perfect, but tries hist best to serve his family and Heavenly Father with diligence and care. I have to choose everyday to invite the Spirit into my home with prayer and scripture study and especially with how I choose to talk to my children. If your home is in turmoil, you might want to look at what is in it. What type of music are you listening to? What type of television shows are you watching? How is your communication with your children and your spouse? How is your communication with God? All these questions and more can lead you to finding greater harmony in your home. There will never be perfect harmony, because we are not capable of being perfect in these times. But, we can be greater and always choosing to be better. I chose to be better and because of it I live in a happier and more peaceful home than I could have imagined.
How I live my faith
What is great about being a Mormon, is that it isn't just a Sunday feeling. We serve consistently, in our families and in our communities. My husband and I both work with the youth throughout the church. I am fortunate enough to serve the young women by planning wholesome, recreational activities such as dances. I also get to plan conferences where the youth gather together to learn more of their Savior and gospel principles. My favorite activity to plan is a camp that is held just for the girls. I see so much growth in them over such a short period of time and besides my family, nothing in my life has been so rewarding.
When you are a Mormon, you also live your faith by keeping the Holy Spirit close to you every day. Just like other religions, we pray before every meal, giving thanks for our abundance. Every morning and night we pray again for personal needs, protection, guidance or anything you care to talk to your Heavenly Father about. Also, reading the scriptures daily helps teach my children important principles and gives me personal time to meditate its teachings.
My goal in life is to draw close to my Savior and to be like Him. As I live my life in service and love and surround myself around prayer and scripture study I feel myself drawing closer to my eternal goal.

As is the case throughout history God has communicated to His children through prophets. God used a humble man as a prophet to restore His Church on earth who ultimately died defending His faith.
