Hi, I'm Camille
I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a stay at home mom and have 4 girls. My Husband is a full time student and works full-time. We have a hectic life at times but treasure or family time. I was born and raised in the church and my husband was converted at age 19. We love playing with our kids and being outdoors. I LOVE to cook and to eat. I love reading and look forward to those days when I get to read more often.
Why I am a Mormon
I was born and raised in the church. At 16 my parents divorced and I chose a lifestyle that took me down a path that led me away from the church. I struggled a lot and at age 19 I gave birth to my daughter who is blind. She changed my life. I wanted more than the parties and the worldly lifestyle. I started reading my Book of Mormon again and felt the familiar peace and love that had once been mine. I went to my bishop and started down the path of repentance. It was not an easy path. I chose to go to the Singles ward and kept my baby with me throughout it all. I met my husband there, we were married in the Spokane WA. Temple and about a year after that we had the priviledge of being sealed to our daughter for time ad al eternity. Nothing felt better than to gather with my family and friends in the temple and receive the blessings of a Forever Family. I have a great love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because It is Christ's church. Through study and prayer I have come to know my savior. I know he died for me that I might be forgiven of my sins and given this opportunity to learn from my mistakes and not suffer in regret. I live everyday working towards the day that I will be able to rest in the presence of my Heavenly Father. I know that day will come and that is comforting.
Personal Stories
How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?
The Book of Mormon is a very sacred thing to me. It can produce feelings and bring understanding in a way that I have never found anywhere else. By reading it regularly I gain a closer relationship with God and come to a greater understanding of His love for me. I find so many parallels between the ancient times spoke of in the Book of Mormon and the days we live in today and know that a loving Heavenly Father commanded those things to be written for these days. So that we might correct a potentially damning path that could bring heartache and pain. Whenever I turn to the Book of Mormon for understanding or comfort I am never left wanting. I know that this is because God loves me. I know that the Book of Mormon can be a guide and a comfort to all who desire it and seek a testimony of it. It has helped me to understand that joy and happiness is Gods will for all and that growth and progression is the purpose of life.
How I live my faith
I try my hardest to live my faith everyday. I try to live the way I feel my Heavenly Father would want me to be and to pattern my life after my Savior Jesus Christs example, by showing love by serving others. I visit the ladies in my ward (congregation) in something we call visting teaching. I enjoy doing this, sharing stories and bearing testimony, By doing this I am able to help meet the needs of the sisters in our ward.
I also feel that it is a great blessing to be a mother and wife. I work very hard to be a good example to my children by reading my scriptures and praying with them.
I believe that it is a priviledge to be a mormon and it is not just something I do on Sundays.
