Connie, Im a grandmother: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Connie, Im a grandmother

I grew up in Twin Falls Idaho, home of the famous Idaho Potatoes.Im a Mormon !

About Me

Iam a Mother of four children and 19 grandchildren. I grew up in California and then went to BYU where I met the love of my life. We were married in the Los Angelos Temple. My husband graduated as a teacher and we moved to Arizona where he taught history for 30 years.
Recently my husband contacted a fatal disease and passed away, it has made me very lonely without my sweetheart. Im so grateful to have the activity of the church to enrich my life and help me live worthy to be with him once more .

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints.I know our church is led by a prophet, Thomas S Monson, who leads and guides us through direct revealation from God.I also know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and he was led to the Golden Plates and he translated them for us , in this the latter days. I have been a member of the church all my life .I know Christ lives and listens to our prayers, the way to be happy, is to follow in his footsteps.I know he died on the cross for us, he took our sins upon himself .We,will always be forgiven of our sins if we but follow him,and keep his commandments.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

I pray everyday to my Father in Heaven, I know he listens to me and answers my prays. Sometimes I have to be very patient in waiting for his answer, but I know in his time, he will answer me and it will be the answer that Iam seeking. I could not make it through a day without the knowledge that he is with me and ready to answer any question that I have.

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

AS a family we can pray together and have family home evening where we can discuss any problems that we are having as a family and seek the Lords answer while we are holding a family prayer. We can also fast, or go without food, when a problme arises that we need extra help and prayers for. We need to be a united front to our children, always always support each other in any decisions that we make.

How I live my faith

I have always worked with the Young Women of the church. They are such beautiful and tender young people, they are always seeking the truth and want to be taught the way to be happy. I have tried all my life to be an example of righteous living to these young women. It has been my thrill to see many of my past Young Women, marry in the Temple to a worthy mate. THis is one of the most important things we can teach the youth, is to marry a good man and marry him in the right place. We teach them to be Daughters of God, and to be worthy of the many blessings he has to offer them.
I have been blessed with the gift of music in my life. Many times I have been asked to be the choir director or the organist or to play the piano for the young children in the primary. THis is a special calling, to try to bring the spirit into the meetings through beautiful and sacred music.
I have also worked with the Women of the church and help them to feel their self worth and to help increase their testimony through lessons and giving charitable service to those in need. At this time Iam working with the single sisters and helping them to feel a part of all the church activities, even though they are alone. I feel like any service that I can give, benefits me more than the person I serve. Im grateful that I have always had the health and ability to serve my Heavenly Father and others wherever Im needed.
I also work at the Family History Center and help many members and non-members find their ancestors, through introducing them to the new.family search. THis is indeed a blessing to work with these wonderful people who are searching for answers to their many questions, as to where they came from. It has blessed my life to be able to serve others, for this I will be eternally grateful..
