I am from Arizona. I am a wife, mother, sister and friend. I am a 911 operator. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 4 boys. Before I married I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. I enjoy watching and playing softball with my husband and friends. I have been at stay at home mom for 12 years. During that time I provided child care in my home and even started an at home preschool for my children and others in my community. I recently went back to work to help provide for my family. I enjoy spending time with my family and reading good books.

Why I am a Mormon

I was very lucky to have been born and raised in the Church. My ancestors date back to the early Arizona pioneers. I am grateful each day for the gospel and the guidance it has given me throughout my life. I know that by following the teaching of the Gospel I am living the best life I could live. I have been blessed with a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and know that as I strengthen my testimony I grow closer to Him. I am grateful for the guidance the Gospel gives to me as a parent. Knowing that Heavenly Father is entrusting me to raise my children with a knowledge of Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation is important and valuable to me. Knowing that I have His help when challenges arrise strenghten my resolve to serve others and follow his teachings.

How I live my faith

I have had opportunities to serve in the Primary organization for the past 8 years. Specifically I have been serving with the Cub Scout program. Teaching and learning from the children our church is uplifting and humbling. My favorite time has been serving in the leadership positions working with the children's classes. Sharing my testimony with them each week and seeing the light of Christ in the eyes of the youth is one of my favorite places to be in the Church. Knowing that the very basics of the Gospel are being taught and watching as the children grasp concepts of love and service bring joy to my life.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

One of the best things in life is that we can freely communicate with God; our Heavenly Father. Because He loves us so much, He has blessed us with the precious gift of prayer. Through prayer we are able to counsel with Him and whatever we ask sincerely, He will make it known unto us. The scriptures can give you a surety of this. In Matthew 7:7 it says, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." Another example is in the book of James 1:5-6, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed."

If you would like to know that what you have heard is true after learning or taking the discussions from the missionaries or any member that has shared a message with you, go to Heavenly Father in prayer and ask Him. I know that He will send His spirit to testify the truth of it unto you. His spirit will give you feelings of peace, hope, comfort and happiness.

Sometimes we do not get answers to our prayers as soon as we may want them to come but never should we lose hope nor get discouraged; as you continue to earnestly study and search for the truth and exercise patience, the truth will gradually be unfolded unto you. I have a testimony of this, for my answer came as I earnestly and patiently continued to investigate the church.

Here is a simple step by step instruction on how to know Mormonism is true.

1. Meet with missionaries.
2. Pray to Heavenly Father with real intent and ask something like this, " I want to know if this is Your church, so is this Your church?".
3. READ THE BOOK OF MORMON! Ask God if it is true.
4. Look for an anwser from God. He speaks with us through our thoughts and feelings by the Holy Ghost. Ask the missionaries for more details.
5. Come to church to see for yourself.
6. Keep the commandments that the missionaries teach you.
7. Repeat until answer is received.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Part of our purpose here on earth is to form eternal families. A husband and his wife possess the God-given abilities to procreate. Together they are two halves of a whole. Each possess gifts and abilities necessary to the creating and rearing of children. God has ordained it such, and any lifestyle that inhibits the progression towards forming eternal families is not in accord with God's plan and purpose for life. "Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 11:11)
