Hi, I'm Ashley
I'm an Idaho girl, born and raised. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I run around like a chicken all day at my job and I love it! I love studying the Gospel! I enjoy running, lifting weights, swimming, biking, and music. I enjoy cooking and eating..
Why I am a Mormon
I find it interesting that every fasting testimony meeting I hear, "I'm a convert to the Church, I was baptized a few years ago," or whatever. Honestly though, aren't we all converts to the Church? Its apparent to me, that any individual who choses to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and sticks with it through all the trials and tests of mortality, has received at some point in time a witness by the power of the Holy Ghost of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Any individual who reads The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, and takes Moroni's promise seriously to, "ask God the Eternal Father, in the name of Jesus Christ," (Moroni 10:3-5) with a sincere heart and faith in Christ, will undoubtably receive a witness from God that it is true. I offer my testimony that it is true, that God lives, that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ in the sacred grove and restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth, that The Book of Mormon was translated by the power of God and that Thomas S. Monson is the true and living prophet upon the earth today.
With all the horrible scenes of sadness and destruction going on in the world today, its more evident to me that we need the peace that Christ spoke of when He was upon the earth. In fact, leading up to His suffering in Gethsemane and crucifiction He told his disciples, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14: 27) It seems to me that Christ has invited all of us, regardless of whoever we are or whatever station of life we are in, to Come unto Him (Matthew 11:28-30). To take His yoke upon us, and to learn of Him. I can testify to you that it is in coming to Christ that we can receive of His peace, because I have come to know this peace myself through constant prayer. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by regularly attending church, studying the scriptures and the words of the living prophets daily, praying regularly, serving in the church whenever I am asked, paying a full tithe, and making a honest effort to stand as a witness of Christ at all times, in all things, and in all places.
