I was born in Dallas, Texas, I have lived in 8 states. I am in my last year of high school. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have moved to 8 different states in my life. I am about to graduate from High School. I am obsessed with watermelon. I love basketball and football. I love to spend time with my family. The sky is pretty much my favorite thing ever. Music makes me happy! My favorite animal is a dolphin and my favorite color is blue!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because, I believe in it with all my heart. I've been raised a mormon and taught about it all my life, but thats not why I am a mormon. I really know for myself, through my own experiences that this is truly God's church on the earth today, and I know that for myself, not through anyone else. I know that God loves me and knows me perfectly, and that just makes me so happy and grateful!

Why do Mormons go on missions?

I plan to go on a mission because I want to share the greatest blessing I have. I have been so blessed to have the Gospel of Jesus Christ and it has made me the happiest person. I want to share this blessing with others, so they can feel the joy and happiness that I feel through the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Please share your feelings/testimony of Joseph Smith.

I am so incredibly grateful for Joseph Smith. He faced the incredible amounts of affliction and abuse. He was beaten, tarred and feathered, and lost so many of his friends. But none of this got him discouraged. He kept on pressing forward. I know that he really saw God the Father, and His son Jesus Christ. I know that he really translated the Book Of Mormon through the power of God. If his work was not the work of God, he would not have been able to withstand and endure the persecution that he and his family went through.

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

I think that we develop greater harmony in our homes through focussing our lives on the Savior. If our homes are based on the teachings and life of Jesus Christ, then those in our home will want to be like Christ. And As we all try to grow closer to Jesus Christ then we all grow closer to each other, and we are all happier!

How I live my faith

I live my faith through applying the things that I know I should be doing. I think the most basic way for me to live my faith is simply being nice to everyone and trying to help others and brighten their day. There are so many opportunities for me just to help and serve around me and there are so many people who need a smile or something little that I can do for them. So I live my faith through trying to help others and serve them in any way that I can.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

I don't know. Quite honestly when labels are used I think this comes from someone's desire to quickly explain away something that they don't understand. If they really took a hard look at the church it would be easy to tell that Mormons do not blindly follow any human being. I think maybe someone who might use that label could look at the level of commitment and obedience found among the members of this church and casually explain this away as blind obedience. They certainly do not see the personal struggles and the effort that maintaining a personal relationship with God requires. Like most Mormons I think, I do what I do out of devotion and love. It may start out as duty and habit, but as I have come to know God and His mercy and love (the big picture) I can't help but want to keep the commandments. I don't follow a person, I follow God and His Son and they help me every step of the way.

Mormon's are viewed as a cult by some because we do not adhere to the fundamental creeds established by the other Christian churches, such as the Nicene or Athanasian Creeds, and their view of the Godhead. Latter-day Saints are viewed by other Christians just like the early Christians were viewed by the Jews and Romans of the time, which was as a cult, because they strayed from what seemed to them orthodox Judaism. Much like the Pharisees and Sadducees, who viewed orthodoxy through the lens of the rules laid out in the rabbinical law and their interpretation of the Law of Moses, the Christians of today view orthodoxy through the lens of the creeds that were established hundreds of years after the death of Christ under the opinion and counsels of men.

What is the Relief Society?

The Relief Society is the organization in the Church where women come together to strengthen, serve, and teach each other. It's Motto is "Charity Never Faileth" which women of the Church live by to bring relief to the weary and down trodden. Women meet as a Relief Society each week to learn about the Gospel and grow closer to Jesus Christ. Women are asked to serve in many capacities within the Relief Society and give of their time and talents. There are also activities where women share skills and do service for those in their community as well as victims of disasters around the world.
