Hi, I'm Aimee
I am a wife. I am a mother. I am a Mormon.
About Me
I have wanted to be a wife and mother ever since I can remember. I have had the blessing of becoming a mother and forever my life is changed. Ever since that little miracle entered into my life, I made a promise to do whatever it took to stay at home and raise my children myself. I have had several different jobs through out the years working to help bring income into our home, and still be able to dedicate my time to my sweet family. I have found my latest joys sewing, reading, crafting, baking all with my little ones. My favorite being photography. I love capturing the small, sweet moments of childhood & motherhood before they are gone far too quickly. I believe a picture is worth a thousand words, and I hope the photos I take of our family and everyday life keep talking long after I am gone.
Why I am a Mormon
I had the blessing of growing up in a Mormon family. They set wonderful examples of charity, prayer and service. However, that is not why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I have had my own life experiences that have tested and tried me hard. Did I mention they were hard? At those times in my life, it wasn't the faith of others or what they had done that helped me through them, but my own. I had seen what the gospel of Jesus Christ had done in their lives, and was blessed to put it into action in my own life. I gained a personal testimony of Jesus Christ. I felt His loving arms around me in my darkest hours, comforting me, bringing me peace. I know with out a doubt we have a loving Heavenly Father who has designed a wonderful plan for us. I have felt Him. I know He hears and answers my prayers. He loves us. He wants us to be happy. He is there.
Personal Stories
How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?
My brother and I got married with in a few months of each other. His wife and I had an instant connection and became great friends. We shared our newly wed lives together, sometimes it felt as if we were sisters, rather than sisters-in-law. Before my brother and his wife were married, she shared with us the sadness of her illness. She had been diagnosed with brain tumors as a senior in high school. My brother and my family were grateful to have her in our lives. We didn't care if she lived for a week, or day, or years, we knew if she were sealed to our family, she would be with us forever. That is an extremely special promised blessing. After they were married 2 short years later, her sickness became rapidly worse. As my sweet sister's body slowly shut down, I had the marvelous blessing of serving her and talking with her. As we talked about the days to come, I became very emotional, knowing what was ahead. She quickly comforted me and said, " I will see you again. I know I will." What a wonderful belief we both share. She pasted away at the young age of 24. Within a year my husband left me and my two children. I felt very lonely and hopeless. However, it was in those moments I felt my sweet sister whom I had served while she was physically ill. She was there serving me when I was emotionally ill. I have a very strong testimony of the Plan of Happiness. I know without a doubt, there is life after this. I have felt my dear sister and I know we will be together again. Our sisterhood will be just as real as the one we shared on Earth. What a truly amazing blessing. I am grateful for that knowledge and promise. We have a loving Heavenly Father who wants nothing more than us to be happy. He has created an amazing plan for families so we may be forever together.
How I live my faith
I love being a Mormon and all of the happiness it brings me and my family. Together, we attend church on Sundays, read scriptures and pray together. We share family nights on Monday nights together. On those special nights, we study the Gospel together, enjoy activities together, create memories and serve others. I have had the blessing of serving the children in the church. I love teaching them about Jesus Christ and the love He has for each of them. Watching them learn and grow is an experience all in it's own. It is amazing. I am ultimately the one who is being taught. I also am able to serve women in of my faith. By visiting them monthly I have come to love these women dearly and have gain life long friends. The joy and happiness that comes from serving others is so very rewarding. These are just some of the small things I enjoy about being a Mormon.
