Cameron Clark: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Cameron Clark

I'm a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am serving in The Richmond Virginia Mission.

About Me

As with alot of people there are many things that make me who I am. I love to do things with my family. I have great parents and a loving sister. I also have a large extended family that I am very close to. The most important thing to me is my family. I love how the Gospel can bless family. I have seen many blessing come from the gospel that benefit me and my family. I also love doing things with my family such as snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, camping, and Sunday night bbq. Along with family comes friends. my friends are just like an extended family. So basically anything I do will either involve my family or friends! I owe everything I have to them and also the gospel. Without the gospel my family would not be the way they are today and I wouldn't have any of the friends I have now if the gospel was not in my life.
This past year I went to a year of college and majored in Business management. I went to a Jr. college called College of Southern Idaho. I loved school and I plan on returning to my studies when I am home from my mission. I will return home in the summer of 2013.

Why I am a Mormon

So I get asked all the time "why am I a Mormon?" I always say why wouldn't you want to be a Mormon! There are so many blessing in the church that many people don't realize we have. We may not all drive fancy cars, or have the biggest homes, but we have found joy in other things than temporal things. Of course the temporal or worldly things are nice to have, but you can't take them with you when you leave this life. The things that bring me true happiness is knowing that my family is going to be together forever. So when people ask, "Why are you a Mormon?" I simply say because i am going to have my family not only in this life but the next. Now this is only one of the reasons I am a Mormon. The Church of Jesus Christ has many great teachings, programs, and organizatons to help everyone on there individual needs. We all have different challenges and things we struggle with and the church is there to help every step of the way. So me being a Mormon didnt just happen overnight. It was a process. My dad was convert to the church and we weren't overly active when I was young. Anyway, when I turned 8 I was baptized into the church, but my true conversion happened when we started living the teachings of the gospel. My family and I started to read from the Book of Mormon and we prepared ourselves to go through the temple and be sealed for time and all eternity. When the day came that we were to go to the temple my entire family was pumped. We had everything planned out and started the 3 hour drive so Salt Lake City. Now the day that I went through the temple is the day I knew with all my heart that this church is true. I had never felt better in my life, and that day I knew I was going to serve a mission so that I could share this great gospel with the world. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ is the true church on the earth today, and that all of its teachings are true. I know this or I wouldn't be dedicating 2 years of my life to invite others to join.

How I live my faith

In the LDS faith there are many ways that we can serve one another. That's the number one way I live my faith. I'm serving a mission and that is 2 years of service that you do not get breaks from. No one told me to serve a mission, infact no one asked me personally to serve a mission. I'm serving because I know it is the right thing to do, and that there are many people that could benefit from hearing about the gospel. That's why I chose to serve a mission. When people say they don't believe in the LDS faith they are saying they don't believe in the LDS life style. Being a Mormon isn't just a religion it is a new life style. I love it so much I am trying to let others know about it by serving a mission. Before I came on a mission I held many leadership positions in the church. I also received my Eagle Scout award, and held many school leadership positions as well. All of these leadership positions have helped me learn and grow inside and outside of the church.
