I have SWAG and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I played varsity basketball and volleyball in high school and I also sang in the high school. I love hanging out with my family and friend, they mean the world to me. I enjoy doing all activities as long as I am having fun or see someone having fun. I work Monday- Friday from 9am to 4pm to save for my mission. Meeting new people is one of my favorite things to do because I am very outgoing and and get along with everyone. I have 2 brothers, 1 younger and 1 older and I have 1 sister that is married in the temple to her really cool husband and they have 2 little girls that I absolutely love. My mom and dad help to guide me in the right direction everyday. I have a couple of really good friends that just make me want to become a better person because everyone has room for improvment. But their is this one girl that is about to go on a mission and she just is the person that pushes me to my limits to be more like Christ and I love that feeling I get when I am around her because she always has good things to so. I look up to all of these people I have listed because they helped to make me who I am today, which is a gentleman that is preparing for a mission to go out to the world and teach people the gospel and show them that being mormon is amazing.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason why I am Mormon is because I read my scriptures every night before I go to bed and I get this amazing feeling inside that modivates me to keep on reading to learn more about the gospel. I also have a huge testimony in our church of Jesus Christ and because I know its true and I know Thomas S. Monson is the true Prophet of our days. But I am also Mormon because I know if I ever need anything I can go up to any other member and ask them for their help. Mormons are some of these nicest and most sincere people that are always willing to help out. I just dont know where I would be in life right now without the chuch.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday for 3 hours and then I go home and eat dinner with my family and then I go to missionary prep for 1-2 hours during sunday evening. I dont drink, smoke or do any drugs whatsoever. I dont say the lords name in vane. I dont judge anyone for any reason no matter what they look or act like. And I just try to be the best person I can be. But I do it while having fun with my friends or family.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Because families are forever and I holestly believe that. I am always going to be my parents son and my brothers and sisters brother. And I believe that everyone is related.

We believe that our families are the basic unit of any society, and that failure in the home means that we've failed as a nation and a people. We've heard that it takes a village to raise a child, and that's true enough. But our leaders have told us that the most important work we can do in life, even more than any professional pursuits, is to raise our children in righteousness.

Think about it. If each father and mother were just a little more engaged in their family's lives i'm not talking about controlling their family, helping their sons and daughters with the challenges they constantly face, the crises we find ourselves in as a nation would become much less. We'd more good in the world as a result. You may think that naive or unrealistic, but I know how much good one family can cause, and how much pain another can cause. We want to change the world, and to do that we need to change ourselves and help our families become better too.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

We all have the freedom to pursue happiness in their own way, and I would even be willing to allow that some desires may be genetically given. This does not make our desires right. In the scriptures we read " For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord." (Mosiah 3:19) We all have "natural desires" that place us in opposition with God's purpose and desires for us and we must each seek to correct them if we wish true happiness.

I sympathize with those whose desires are powerful and poignant; you face a sore trial indeed. The scriptures give us hope though; "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." (1 Corinthians 10:13) God is merciful and Christ is compassionate, while there may be yet an effectual struggle to be had perhaps for many years or the rest of our lives full repentance and change is possible.

If a homosexual individual desires to continue as such and marry only by the laws and rites of the state, then I have no qualms, I will do my utmost to be a friend to such an individual. I only ask that my rights, beliefs, and Church are respected.
