About Me

I absolutely love life and smiling all the time! I think life is meant to be enjoyed, so I try to laugh and have fun all the time! I love to be outdoors and spending time with my family. I am almost always talking and sharing stories with everyone I am around! I went to college to study non-profit management and I eventually want to help everyone in the world that I possibly can.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 11 after my parents and my siblings joined the church. I knew that the church was true after I prayed about it and received an answer that I couldn't deny! My testimony has continued to grow and be strengthened because I have learned that Heavenly Father sees me through all my problems. Every trial that I have been through in my life has lead to my greatest blessings and taught me more than I could possibly imagine. Because of the help that I have received during my trials, I know that God is always watching out for me and teaching me exactly what I need to learn. I have found more joy in the Gospel than I could ever possibly imagine, and because of that I practice my faith everyday!

How has The Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?

The Book of Mormon has helped me understand the purpose of life because it helps me to center Christ in life. I know that the purpose of life is to learn how to be more like our Savior Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon is the perfect way to understand that. As I read the Book of Mormon my faith in Jesus Christ grows stronger and I learn what I need to do to return to live with him. I love the Book of Mormon and what I have learned from reading it!

Why do Mormons go on missions?

Mormons go on a mission because we have an important message to share and we want to all the world to hear it. For me, I think missionary work is so important because I know that there are lots of people who are lost and unable to see God's plan for them. Missionaries go out everyday to help people understand that God has a plan for them and they can be truly happy by understanding this plan!

How I live my faith

Normally I practice my faith by going to church, reading my scriptures and praying everyday. Right now I am living my faith by being a full time missionary! Everyday I get to talk to people and testify to them about what I know to be true. There is nothing I love more than being a missionary and being able to tell people everyday that there is joy and amazing blessings awaiting them. My faith has been strengthened as I have taught people how to strengthen their own.

Faith is taking action because of a hope in something. Often the Savior asks of us to do certain things or live in certain ways. When we see a stranger in distress, we stop and help them as Jesus commanded us to in the Good Samaritan Luke 10:25. The act of helping is the evidence of our Faith in Christ. We are asked to tithe. Tithing is evidence of our faith. We tithe in hopes of the promises in Malachi 3:10 that the floodgates of Heaven are open to us.
Faith is when we put our beliefs and hope into action.

Of all the definitions of faith I have read or heard, I add the simplest and most complete to me, which is the Love of Christ. I cannot think of a better way to describe faith. Love of Christ is the substance of hope in something evident we can not see with earthly eyes. It is the faith in Christ or the love of Christ that enabled Able to make a more perfect sacrifice (Hebrews 11:4). That love is why we believe in Christ, it is why we have grace, it is why we have works, it is why we have belief, it is why we have hope, it is why we have charity, it is the very essence of faith, and faith is the very essence of the Love of Christ

Perfect knowledge is worthless without faith. For instance, most of us have perfect knowledge that applying a pointed pencil to paper will cause a mark. That knowledge will not make a mark if we do not exercise the elements of faith called works (picking up the pencil, applying it to the paper, and making a mark), belief (that doing so will make a mark), and hope (that it actually will make a mark). It is my desire that you would exercise works to find out about Christ and study Him, that you would believe on His words and His life and His sacrifice, and that you would hope that He would have an effect in your life. If you exercise this faith, you will truly come unto Him.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

We do not drink coffee, tea, alcohol, use tobacco, or illegal drugs because of a commandment known as the Word of Wisdom.

The Word of Wisdom was a commandment revealed to the prophet Joseph Smith in 1833. It tells us the importance of keeping care of our bodies because they are temples. (1 Corinthians 3:16-17)

We know that while from the outside it may seem restrictive it really gives us freedom it blesses us physically and spiritually. The things that we are counseled to stay away from in this law from our loving Heavenly Father help us keep our agency. When you are addicted to something you have given up some of your agency, it controls you. Satan tries to use addictive things to bind us down so we cannot focus on our relationships with the Lord.

In addition to us keeping our agency we are promised these things in the Word of Wisdom: "all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments... shall find wisdom and great treasures of knowledge, even hidden treasures... And I, the Lord, give unto them a promise, that the destroying angel shall pass by them, as the children of Israel, and not slay them. Amen." (D&C 89:18-21

So those who keep the commandment are able to be in tune with the Holy Ghost more. That is a great blessing because it is the Spirit that helps us stay on the path to eternal life and teaches us all spiritual truths.
