I am an adoptive and biological mother. I am a wife to a dental student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother to almost six kids and my oldest is five We have adopted three, one who passed away last Christmas in his sleep when he was 14 months. I love being a mom. I love to exercise and training others. My husband is a cancer survivor and is fully in remission now. I love to practice photography, especially on our kids. I love all sports and I was able to play college basketball.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel has taken on a deeper meaning to me in the last nine months, with the passing of one of our children. I was humbled more than I ever thought possible. With this trial, I was forced to decide where my Faith was. I have always had a testimony that the Gospel is true, but with this trial I now KNOW with every part of me that Jesus lives. Because of the knowledge this Gospel blesses me with, I know I will see our son again. I'm so grateful for the Temples on the earth and the knowledge that I have the Families can be Forever!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching the young children (6-7 year olds) about Jesus. I teach them from the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I love being able to teach the kids the stories of Jesus' life and to see them understand and feel our Savior's love for them. I'm also able to visit 3-4 women a month. I am able to gain a special relationship with each one of them by serving and loving them.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

How could we ever hope for anything if it weren't for the grace offered by our Saviour Jesus Christ?

God is just - which means His laws are just. They are eternal. This means that His dealings towards us will always be just, but it also means that He exacts justice from us, His children. Regardless of the commandment or law, justice demands a recompense for obedience, but also a punishment (or consequence) for disobedience.

Jesus Christ has paid for these trespasses, and He willingly extends that payment to each one who earns or deserves it. This grace is awarded based on our repentance, a change of heart so profound, we abandon the desire to repeat the offense.

That is grace: forgiveness (meaning: not having to suffer ourselves for our own mistakes and disobedience) which follows sincere repentance. What an incredible gift!

We believe 100% that we are saved by grace. Absolutely. Period. No person can be saved by his or her works, no matter how great he or she is, and how many good things he or she did. In order to qualify for Christ's grace, however, we must live righteously, repent, and humble ourselves before the Lord.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

I have a testimony of the "The Family: A Proclamation to the World." It is scripture because it is the word of God coming to us through an inspired Prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley, prior President of the Church, and living Apostles. It clearly states, “We believe that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God." As long as a person abstains from homosexual relations and cultivates wholesome thoughts, they worthy before God. The Church does not and will not ever condone "gay bashing." I see same-sex attraction as a special challenge to overcome in this life, and not a curse. God loves all of his children unconditionally, but that does not mean that He condones sexual relations outside the bounds of a legal marriage between a man and a woman. I bear my witness that the Atonement made by Jesus Christ is not only has the power to save us from physical death and redeem us from sin, but it also the power to transform our lives. As we yield ourselves to Christ and seek to do his will, we will find the grace and healing to deal with whatever challenges or circumstances life deals to us.
