Hi, I'm Daniel
I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I have been married for four years to my sweetheart wife. I'm also a father of two beautiful children, one boy and one girl. I am currently self-employed as a network marketer. I served a mission for the LDS church for two years in the tiny country of Paraguay in South America. I enjoy sports and anything that involves good food.
Why I am a Mormon
I was born a memeber of the Mormon Church. My family was always pretty active in the church so I was always around other people in a similar setting. However, I'm not the type of person to just go with the flow because "it is what everyone else is doing" Growing up in High School, I can remember being the kid that always hung out with people that were not of my same faith. Therefore my beliefs were constantly being challenged by those I hung out with. At many times throughout my life it was very hard to be the "Mormon" friend because everyone is watching you, and at times it almost seemed as though they wanted me to fail. I felt this throughout my life often, but always relied on the Saviour for strength. When I finished High School, I attended a community college while ultimatley deciding if a mission was the right thing for me personally. It was at that time that I felt that if I were to spend my own money and time (two whole years) to go to some other place in the world...away from everything that I knew, I better know that I'm going for the right reasons! Not just because it is what is expected of me. It was at that time I feel I truly gained MY TESTIMONY! I recall the feeling I felt as I knelt in prayer and supplication to my Heavenly Father. I asked if the Book of Mormon was true...if Joseph Smith was indeed his prophet in these latter days and if serving a mission what HE wanted me to do with my life. The answer came as sure as as the sun rises each morning. I KNOW that my Heavenly Father not only loves me, but he knows me personally. I know that he gave his only son Jesus Christ, a willing sacrifice, for all of us. I know that Jospeh Smith was his Prophet, seer and revelator, who restored the true gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth. I know that just the same as Moses walked the earth as the Lord's mouthpiece, Thomas S. Monson is His Prophet in our day. I know that Jesus Christ loves us and wants every good thing for all of his children.
Personal Stories
How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?
The world we live in is constantly being attacked by Satan....I can never recall more people getting divorces, being unfaithful and ultimatley families being torn apart. It is extremley sad to me to watch people go through so much, especially young children that are exposed to such situations...it leaves a lasting scar. When I was married I was determined to have a joyful marriage and a home full of LOVE...that was before I knew what a two year old is capable of :) One piece of advise I can offer is this: It is ETERNAL, marriage...families....relationships are forever. My wife and I attend the Temple often to remind ourselves of that and as we do so, the seemingly overwhelming things of the WORLD, suddenly are not so important.
How I live my faith
I live my Faith though service. My beautiful wife and I have served in many capacities in the Church and out to help otheres. I have worked with the youth for sometime in both the Young Mens' organization and also the Cub/Boy Scouts organizations. I enjoy serving others and being able to lighten someone else's burdens through simple acts of service.
