I was born in Idaho, my dad was in the military but he retired when i was young. I grew up in California right by the coast, but every summer my family vacations in Idaho and works on my grandfathers farm. I have fond memories of waking up early in the morning and milking cows or moving pipe. In high school i worked at a retirement home as a waiter. I loved my job, and it allowed me to interact with older people and learn from them. It was such a great experience. I love being in the outdoors. I love going to the beach with friends. I love boating with my family and camping. I love the smell of wet grass, i love the feeling of being sore after a hard days work. And i love my family.
I Choose to be a member of this church because i have seen the gospel bless the hearts and the minds and the lives of the people around me. I choose to remain a member of this church because everyday i feel Gods love for me through the Holy Ghost. I have a testimony of God and his great love for his Children. There have been so many times in my life that i have sought help, through pray and study. I will always remember one such occasion,i haven't seen my little brother in about a year, and one day i let the feelings affect me, an i was taken up in this longing to see him, at that time i felt really sad. Then I decided to pray for comfort and as in right as i closed my prayer, still kneeling on the ground ... i heard a song start playing from the upstairs in our house, the song is Called " Go bring them in" and the song is so meaningful to me because my brother plays the violent and a couple years ago my brother played in a special musical group and that is one of the songs they played. As the notes and chords began to fill my mind, i was taken back. I felt so much love and happiness flood my body, it was like heavenly father was allowing me to feel my brothers love. I ts a feeling that is hard for me to describe in any language. But i know it came from God, I know he lives, and he loves each and everyone of us. He knows our name, and that is my testimony in the name of our redeemer Jesus Christ amen.
Prayer is a way (for me) to have a discussion with (my) father in heaven everyday. Prayer is a way to form a relationship with our father in heaven Prayer is a way for God to communicate with us Prayer effects every decision that i make, it effects the people we choose to hang out with, the way we speak, and the places we go. One of may friends always says if your not speaking you should be praying, its true. We should always have a prayer in our heart. Without prayer none of the miracles of the bible would have been preformed, without prayer i wouldn't be here, but through prayer i am. I belong to this church because a small boy was willing to offer a simple prayer of the heart, and for that prayer, i am eternally grateful.
Music, music is the harmony and melody of our lives. Growing up my mother always played music in the home. When we would fight, it was that familiar music would come on, and come our feelings. When spiritual music is playing no one can fight or yell. Music effects the way we feel, the thoughts we think, and the way we act. As a musician i am especially effected, i can remember one particular concert that i attended, and with in the first five minutes i remember tears filling my eyes, and happiness filling my body, its a feeling that is hard to describe. It happened because i was hearing something that sounded to me like it came from God. I believe music is a part of our Faith and hope, its the hope that brings us to the music and its the faith that helps us endure the hard times, and brings us to the happiness.
I live my faith through strengthening others. I live my faith through sharing my testimony. I live my faith through my thoughts and actions. I live my faith by always standing as a disciple of Jesus Christ. I live my faith through my family. I live my faith through my music, and poetry. I live my faith through the way i act, when no one is watching.
