I'm a Mormon. I have two sisters, my mother and father have both passed away.

About Me

In my life I have had two great influences, they being my mother and grandmother. I was taught about the LDS religion, I was baptized at the age of 8 years old as were my sisters. We went to church sometimes and read the scriptures never. My grandmother was dismayed over this, but continued to support and teach us about faith and love of JESUS CHRIST. My mother showed me determination and enduring through tough times with humor and smiles, for nothing was ever to difficult .

Why I am a Mormon

The love of Jesus for me is a tangible thing. Ever growing! I feel the light of Christ and I desperately don't want the emptiness I knew before becoming fully active in the Gospel,

Please share your feelings/testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel.

I know that Joesph Smith was ordain by God the Father who is Christ the Lord to bring forth ancient scriptures that was fortold in Isaiah. His gospel and teachings were set forth through devine inspiration and are contained in the Book of Mormon.

Why/How do you share the gospel with your friends?

We follow the commandment to go out and proclaim the words of the Lord. I want those around me to know the joy that I found, it is gratifying to see the light of Christ in them.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

We are all commanded to go forth and proclaim the gospel which is the word of the Lord.

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?

It lead me to the Temple for my Endowments. I know that the Lord will bring my family safely to him once more, that brings me great peace and comfort.

Can you talk about the missions of the Church and your participation in them?

The mission of the church is to bring others closer to the Lord through the light of Christ, by study and faith as to the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. By testitfying of this we can light up the lives of others, and by setting an example I hope I can lead them to the Gospel.

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I hope that I have been able to share things that bring them happiness, and something that they to will be able to teach others and continue to grow through the experience as I do.

Could you talk about your baptism?

You know I was young and it was long ago but what joy and fulfillment it did bring to my heart. You feel brand new and the Lord speaks to you more clearly through the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?

This isn't a clear choice because there are many. I know that the Lord has blessed my family, myself and many others for obeying the commandment of keeping a food storage. Serving others through charitable works is a large part of who I am, I don't know how to be something else.

What blessings have come through your faith in Jesus Christ?

I have been healed so many times by walking with the certain knowledge that he lives, he carries us in difficult times, when we place ourselves in his hands he comes closer to us, and the more we lean on him our growth is extended there is no end to what we can do.

Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you?

The story of the Ten Virgins teaches us that by always adding to our knowledge I can continue to grow in faith and that helps me to avoid pitfalls in life.

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

It strengthens me daily, the Holy Ghost is my constant companion and guide through trying times.

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

I will answer this through a specific experience. I was praying for one of my children because I could sense they were in trouble. I knew there was danger about. I would end my prayer just to feel yet again that trouble remained. I would knell once more to pray, this continued through the night. Finally the feeing left and after a short period of time my child walked into the house. It was revealed to me what had happened. When my child finally sought their bed, I knelt once more and thanked the Lord for the power of prayer, for answering my plea by bringing my child through the trail that they had gone through. I do not offer up who it was to save them from any shame they might feel.

How I live my faith

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

We follow the revelation given to our Prophet Joesph Smith found in the Doctorine and Covenants, it is part of the scriptures that we read and study. By living the Word of Wisdom our health is better and we are blessed spiritually.

God gave us the ability to choose. There are substances in coffee, tea, alcohol, tobacco and other harmful drugs that limit our ability to choose. The intent of the law of health we follow is to preserve our ability to make good choices. This law of health is called the “Word of Wisdom”. It not only guides us regarding the substances to avoid, but also those to include in our diet. We are told to eat fruits and vegetables in their season, include grains, and eat meat sparingly. We are promised that if we follow these guidelines we will be healthy, able to learn and accomplish all that is required of us by our various roles in life. I am grateful for the blessings I receive from following the Word of Wisdom.

As a Dietitian I especially love this law of health because as I’ve seen the US guidelines for nutrition develop they are now aligning with what the Lord told us many years before. I believe that the guidelines set forth in our law of health are the minimum requirements for good health. It may be necessary for some people to avoid certain foods or eat a lower fat diet, or avoid caffeine entirely, but these specifics are not mentioned in the law of health and are to be determined by each individual.

Are Mormons Christians?

In the truest sense of the word, most certainly yes!
The main belief of the mormon church is that of Christ and His Atonement for mankind. We believe that anybody who wants to can be saved through Christ's Sacrifice for us.
Without Christ, our church would be meaningless, void, and pointless. He is the core of this church. In fact, He is the leader and head of this church.
Some people say we don't believe in Christ, but I wholeheartedly disagree; Christ is everything to us - He rescues us from sin and fear, He is the reason for our being.
We celebrate and rejoice in His life and works and know that He lives today! Christ is risen and is ready to help us in our lives.
