Mason Stewart: Euphonium, Mason, Band, Music, friend, v-necks, Mormon.

Hi, I'm Mason Stewart

I love Utah and all the many things I do there. raised in Lehi Utah. I play the Euphonium, I'm a dork :) I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 21 years old. I have lived in Lehi, Utah pretty much my whole life but I have traveled to most of the Western states as well as, Illinois,New Orleans, and Arkansas. I love music, not really sure why. There is something so great and grand about music that effects almost everyone so deeply. It's amazing. I love rainy days! I love to Snowboard, paintball, and I love just being around the ones I love. I play the Euphonium, Trombone, Tuba, and a little bit of Trumpet..... Tiny bit. In high school I was part of the Wind Symphony, Jazz Band, Marching Band, and also the pit for school musicals. I try to be the go to guy that my friends can come to with whatever problem they are dealing with so I can do my best to help them. In the future I would love to have a career in music but. . . . still not sure how I plan to do that or even if it is the right thing for me, but other than that I'm just a normal 20 year old guy trying to life life to the fullest by spreading Christ's love as a missionary in Spokane, Washington!

Why I am a Mormon

Why I'm a Mormon. It's a fair question. I was raised in the church all my life and in all honesty for a long time I never questioned what I was taught. I went to church, read my scriptures and did everything that I was taught to by my parents. When I was about 16 I felt a strong desire to know if what I had been living all my life was true or if it was just lies. So I started by just routinely praying and just not worrying about it. But I realized later that if God was going to answer my prayer I needed to show him that I truly wanted to know and act of the knowledge that I would receive. So then I would pray, then read my scriptures (Book of Mormon and Bible) very thoughtfully, then I would pray afterwards with a sincere desire to know and act on the answer that I received. One night as I was praying and afterwards I felt this indescribable felling of comfort and peace and a clear mind. All my other worries, school, music, everything was pushed out of my mind and I could think clearly about these feelings. It is this that was my answer that the things I had been taught during my life were all true. I'm so grateful for this witness I received. I'm also immensely grateful for Jesus Christ. I know that he is my personal Savior and the Savior of the world. I know that it is only through him that we can obtain salvation.

Personal Stories

Think about your everyday activities. What are things you act upon each day where you cannot see the end results? How does faith move you to action?

Do I know why God gives us certain commandments? In all honesty I have no idea sometimes why. Why does he let bad things happen? A majority of the time we may not understand why. But we do know that God has promised us that he will help us through our trials if we come to him. He will carry our burdens, he will grasp the hands that hang hopelessly down, he will walk with us in every moment of trial, in every moment of emotional peril no matter how insignificant it really is. He is there for us. If you have faith in Christ even though you may not know what is coming just around the corner, you can know that whatever it is that Jesus Christ will help you overcome it. You may not know what the future hold but if you have faith in Christ, then your future is as bright as your faith. When I stop and remember this it makes me choose better things even if something unexpected happens I know that Christ will be there for me and to help me overcome anything. Faith isn't just idling waiting for God to rescue us or tell us what to do. Faith is an action word and without it we cannot have true faith till we have acted upon the things that we believe, or until we have made a choice and continue even without knowing the end result.

How I live my faith

I live my faith as best as I can by simply helping anyone in anyway possible. To care for those around me and make sure that they have what they need. I try to continually strive to become more Christ like every day so I can better help my fellow man. I also love to just talk with anyone I can about life and be their friend no matter who they are! I most of all love to share the glad news of this gospel with all I know. Especially through music. Music has a way of talking to everyone all at once to effect them even to the point of tears or help them feel the greatest appreciation of our Savior Jesus Christ all through music. Right now I also serve as a missionary for the church in Spokane Washington.
