Why I am a Mormon
I was born and raised in the gospel, and it has enriched my life so much. There have been times when I just could not imagine how on earth I was going to get through a trial, and somehow, through following the teachings of the church and relying on my family and friends in the church to support me, I was able to follow what the Lord wanted me to do. To tell you the truth, I always seem to come out better for it. The trials seem so much easier to get through with the help of the Lord, and they are pretty scarce when I'm following what he wants me to do. I know that he has a plan for me, and if I just stick to it, then he will always help me with it.
Personal Stories
How can your talents and gifts bless others?
Music is a really important part of everything I do, and I worked hard to cultivate a talent for it. I spent years learning to play the piano, and now I am so lucky that I am able to share that.
Personally, Music can change everything on a dime. Different songs can change my mood or motivate me to do something great or small. It just makes you feel. That is why I enjoy singing in the choir so much- I know that the music can bless other people like it does me. It helps me feel the spirit, when I listen to uplifting music, and I know that it can bring the spirit into anything I do. So, I try and share that with anyone and everyone I can.
On a grand scale, in general, our individual talents can bless others simply by sharing them. If we have a talent for speaking, or singing, or drawing, or taking pictures, then just sharing them with the people around you can help them not only enjoy your talent, but to help them develop their own.
Everyone has a talent. They just need to be shared.
How I live my faith
I am a pianist in my ward, as well as an organist. I don't really even know how to play the organ very well, but the Bishopric called me, and I'm sure I can figure it out with the Lord's help, so I will do my best to fulfill those callings. I go to church every sunday, and I sing in the choir. Music is such a powerful thing, and it really is such a strong way to share my testimony and the testimony of others. It touches people in ways that words alone simply can't compare to.
