I have a love and passion for health and nutrition. I remember distinctly at the age of 13 coming to the realization that there was a direct connection between what we eat and how we feel. As the years went by and my children were born, this passion has grown and my knowledge has increased immensely. My last child was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2 and I have been able to apply my passion for nutrition to help him recover from this diagnosis. It is my passion to help educate others about how we need to eat and what we need to do to enjoy a long healthy life. Much of my understanding of food has come from the LDS revelation given to our prophet Joseph Smith in the Doctrine in Covenants section 89. It is my foundation for how we eat in our home and what I teach others. I love being a homemaker. I love to have my hands in the garden or making bread. I love to be at the beach and play in the waves with my children. We love being together and time is going way too fast. These truly are the best years of my life.
I have been a member of the church my whole life. I can't imagine living in this life without having faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ. Understanding that the Lord knows me personally and knows what I need, gives me the comfort that I need in all the difficult trials of my life. I know that the Lord gives us challenges so that we may grow into the people that He knows we can be. I look back on the trials in my life and where I am now and would not ever change a single course. I am so thankful for this understanding of the Lord's plan in my life. I know He wants me to be happy. He knows better than I what I need and all I need to do is have faith that everything will work out according to His plan. I am most thankful for the knowledge that I have of the plan of families on this earth. I am so thankful that in our church, we are taught that families can be together forever if we live worthy of this blessing. My faith in the Lord is unshakable as I have witnessed too many miracles in my life to ever deny his role in my life. I am truly blessed.
As a mother, I rely on the Holy Ghost for inspiration and guidance. The Lord answers our prayers many times through the inspiration of the Holy Ghost. Many times I have been been prompted to do certain things that have in retrospect changed the course of a serious outcome. With my sons diagnosis of Autism, I have relied on the Holy Ghost innumerable time to help figure out what steps I have needed to take next to help him in his recovery. I am so thankful for this guidance in my life. It is a beautiful gift.
I am most thankful for the opportunities our church provides us to serve others. I have been blessed to serve in our women's group, our youth group and with the scouting program. Each opportunity has taught me in different ways and has always brought me out of the experience a much better person. I am thankful that we have a church of volunteers and a church based on inspiration and service.
