Hi, I'm Brittany
I'm a wife and a mom. I love to travel. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
First and foremost, I'm a wife to my best friend and a mother to the most beautiful little girl. Nothing brings me more joy than my family. I graduated from Brigham Young University- Idaho with a Bachelors in psychology and a minor in child development. When my kids are in school, I hope to be able to further my own education and get a Ph'D in either marriage and family counseling or clinical psychology. Or maybe I want to be a professor of psychology. It just depends on the day you ask! I know I really just want to work with people. Currently, I work part-time for Wells Fargo while my husband is in school for air traffic control. I love to travel and have lived all over while growing up. My dad served in the United States Air Force and we moved every three years or so. My favorite was the seven or so years we lived in Europe. I love learning about and experiencing new cultures. As a family we love to camp, hike, swim, and explore.
Why I am a Mormon
It started because my parents are Mormon. My mother grew up in the Church but she married a non-member. My Dad preferred hunting and fishing to attending church service. However, after six years of watching my mom diligently attend church with three small children, he decided to give the Book of Mormon a try. He started reading one night and he couldn't put it down. He read all through the night and woke my mom up to tell her he wanted to be baptized. For a while, their testimonies were enough for me. However, once I got to high school and had to start making important choices for myself, I knew it was time I figured things out. I got my own testimony; I read the Book of Mormon for myself. I studied and prayed. I slowly but surely came to know the Church was true and I liked the principles it taught. I liked how they made me be my better self. I'm a Mormon because I know it's the true Church and I like who I am when I live its teachings.
Personal Stories
Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?
Prayer is one of the first principles of the Gospel I had a testimony of. It started when I was in middle school and would whisper short prayers to help me through difficult challenges that came with moving around a lot and making new friends. I began to notice my prayers were being answered and could feel the love and concern my Father in Heaven had for me personally. From that point, prayer became a huge part of my life. It brought me comfort when nothing else would. It brought blessings and answers I was unable to find on my own. I know that through the power of prayer, I will never be alone nor forsaken.
How I live my faith
I try and live my faith every single day. Being a Mormon isn't just a religion. Its a lifestyle. My coworkers know I am LDS and they know I won't go out with them after work to have a drink. They know I don't swear and they hold me to a higher standard. At home, my daughter is constantly watching and listening to me. I have to be very careful to make sure I am doing things I want her to emulate. I try and use everyday moments as opportunities to teach life lessons. At Church, I teach the 11 and 12 year olds. I love my class and I love sharing my testimony with them. I hope to help them gain their own testimony of their Savior and the Church.
