About Me

I currently teach 3rd grade Special Education. I love sports. Especially basketball and volleyball. I love my family and spending time with them. I love to travel. I love to be outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up LDS but have learned for myself the importance of belonging to the LDS church. I have been through many hard times in my life and have learned that in hard times, the Lord is there and has answered my prayers. There is peace in making right choices and putting the Savior first in our lives.

How I live my faith

I love saying "Put the Lord first and everything else will fall into place". I believe this statement is true. I have learned that by serving others, we forget about ourselves. I love the organization of the church with the visiting teaching and home teaching programs. I have served in different callings in my ward, my most recent calling was the Relief Society President in the singles branch. I realized how important everyone working together is. Every member is important and by everyone serving in the church and the community, it helps everything to work out smoothly. Sometimes things don't turn out like we expect but if we trust in the Lord, things will work out for our good.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Just as old days, we have prophets in our church. All members of the Quorum of the Twelve and the First Presidency are apostles and prophets. The current President of our church is Thomas S. Monson.

President Thomas S. Monson is our current prophet. He is called of God to receive revelation for us today. I am grateful for living prophets and apostles to lead and guide us in this troubled world. I know that they are called of God, and if we follow their counsel we will be happy.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Perhaps one of the greatest blessings I have received by being a Mormon is a concrete understanding of the purpose of life. We believe that every human being is a literal child of Heavenly Father. We lived with Him in Heaven before we were born on earth. Our purpose in life is to keep His commandments, so that we can be worthy to return to live with our Father in Heaven again after we die. We cannot be worthy without allowing the Atonement of Jesus Christ, the Savior, to cleanse us of sin.
