Hi, I'm Laura
I grew up in Michigan and Arizona. I have raised seven children and am going to school to become an elementary school teacher.
About Me
Growing up, I enjoyed ballet and ballroom dancing. I have choreographed high school musicals and community theater musicals. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband and seven children. Since my children started school, I have volunteered in the classroom and been active in school organizations. Because of these positive experiences, I have returned to school to become an elementary school teacher.
Why I am a Mormon
Having been raised Presbyterian and having a father as a minister, I experienced a different upbringing than most LDS youth. I became friends with an LDS girl in eighth grade but it wasn’t until I was eighteen that I was finally baptized. I am grateful for good friends who exposed me to the truth and for my supportive parents who helped me to be open-minded so that I could accept the gospel when it was taught to me. It has been 30 years since I was baptized and I have never regretted that decision.
How I live my faith
Life has not always been easy as challenges arise, but I have been blessed as I have strived to do what is right in my life. I am not perfect and I make mistakes, but I know of the love my Heavenly Father has for me as he helps me through each day. I am truly privileged to be a member of this Church and I know that my life has been blessed and enriched because of the relationship I have with my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. In the Church, I have the opportunity to serve in the nursery. I am able to teach children which are eighteen months to 3 years, the basics of the gospel and to lay the foundation for their faith and testimonies.
