Hi, I'm Katherine
I am a wife and soon to be a mother of one. I am a graphic arts student. And, I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am currently working on getting my Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Arts. I love my husband, we have been married for a little over a year now. We are expecting our first child in February of next year, and are very excited for that! I enjoy painting, drawing, writing, photography, cooking and singing. I love to learn all that I can, and I enjoy being with my family.
Why I am a Mormon
I cannot live even a day without the need to be spiritually fed, whether it is reading the scriptures or hearing the words of our modern day prophets. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a huge part of my heart and of who I am. I love the wonderful feeling I get when I go to the temple to worship God, and when I go to church with my husband and learn about God's plan for me. I love life and I love to help others love life as well. Life is about learning and about coming to know our Heavenly Father better. I truly believe that I am a mormon because it makes me happy. When I hear the gospel, I know with all my heart that it is true and that it is from God. I see how sad my friends are sometimes, and I just want to share the gospel with them, because I know how happy they can be if they would simply open their heart and mind to the teachings of the gospel. Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured. So enjoy it - Eternally! 3
Personal Stories
Could you talk about your baptism?
I remember everything about the day of my baptism. I was eight years old, and so excited to be baptized, even though I was so young. All my family was there, even my grandparents and aunts and uncles. I wore a pretty white dress and my hair was done so beautifully. I felt like I was glowing, waiting to be baptized. When my father held me as he said the baptismal prayer, I carefully held my breath, patiently awaiting when I could be immersed into that water. When I came up out of the water, I felt the spirt so strongly. I felt as clean as the earth right after it rains. I felt happiness and love. As I looked up at my father, he looked so proud of me, and he gave me a great big hug. I changed into my dry clothes and went out and sat with my family. I couldn't stop smiling! It was such a neat experience! I was then confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and given the gift of the Holy Ghost. Even though I was only eight years old at the time, I really knew what I had done that day. And I know that my Heavenly Father was so happy for me. It was definitely a life changing experience!
How I live my faith
I currently have a calling in the Relief Society, my calling is the "Relief Society Meeting Coordinator." I have a wonderful committee, and together, we plan monthly, quarterly, and yearly activities for the women in our ward. Right now we are working on planning our Super Saturday, where we get together and make crafts and delicious food and enjoy one another's company. It is so much fun to plan these activities and see the joy that they bring into people's lives!
