About Me

I am a senior in high school and getting ready to apply for college. My dream is to go to BYU Provo. I also love music, especially the piano. Whenever I find time, I sit at the piano and just play. I also love to sing and am involved in choir at school. I love to bake treats, epecially cupcakes. My mom and I started our own cupcakes business and it's beginning to come together. I have four brothers, and my older brother has autism. It's such a blessing to have him as my brother. He teaches me to apprectiate the little things, and to recognize the most important things in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I absolutely love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It amazes me how wonderful His plan is for us. I often sit and reflect on the almighty power of God, and just how precious I really am to Him. He is a very personal God, and to know that I am His daughter gives me strength and comfort. I can feel His love for me as I go through my day. I want to live my life as Christ would have, serving others, caring for others, and lifting others. I love our prophet, Thomas S. Monson and the apostles of the church. To be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the greatest blessing in my life.

How I live my faith

I am apart of the Young Women's program in the church. I serve the other young women in my group, care for them, and show them I love them. I also love working with the other youth in my ward and stake, and I strive to serve and help them.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Absolutely. If God loved his children in ancient times enough to send them, does He love us any less?

Prophets serve at least 2 purposes.

In the past, Christ Jesus personally called prophets, apostles, evangelists, teachers, deacons, etc, according to the Apostle Paul. He uses such leaders to help move His great work forward, because it is through selfless service that we develop Christ-like qualities and allow us to be one with Him so that we may be One with the Father. Having a living prophet allows the Father to teach hitherto new principles or doctrine to all His children. We can always interpret scripture to meet our intimate needs through personal revelation via prayer and communion with the Holy Ghost. But the greatest acts of service are always done through the synergistic power of communities, whether they are a family or a nation. Our Father in Heaven understands this and he communes with his living prophet, Thomas S Monson, in order to bless the lives of all His children regardless of their circumstances or creeds.

Definitely! In fact, it is hard for me to imagine the world without them. We live in difficult times with wars, economic uncertainty, and just issues and questions that are unique to our generation. Prophets are able to speak with God and relay critical guidance to us that help us to always know what God would have us do.

I believe God loved His children enough in the 'old' days to send His prophets to guide and teach them. He is unchanging, and loves us equally and continues to always have His prophets give us instructions that pertain to our generation.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

The principle of a perpetuating body of twelve special witnesses of Christ comes in ancient times from the fact that the eleven survivors of the death of the Savior chose a twelfth to replace Judas Iscariot (see Acts of the Apostles 1:15-26) Two were considered worthy to take his place, but only one was chosen. When the apostles cast their lots, the inspired choice fell upon Matthias.

In modern times, the Church's organization has been one of gradual building. As the needs of the Church have continued to grow, the prophet of the Lord has been directed to add not only the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, but other supporting quorums of the Seventy as well. The structure of the local organization of wards and stakes has been given by revelation to complete it. But as the needs of the Church continue to evolve so will the structure which supports it. Christ remains the chief cornerstone and the Apostles as the foundation with Him. (see Ephesians 2:19-20 also Ephesians 4:11-14)
