I'm a mormon.

About Me

I enjoy the beautiful outdoors. I was raised in Colorado and nothing compares to that beautiful state. I love camping and exploring the mountains. I enjoy snowboarding. I really love the rain and I also love the snow. There is something comforting about watching those elegant white flakes of snow grasping everything in sight, silencing the world. I love music, art (although I am not much of an artist myself) and laughter. I love the country but the city also has much to offer. I am going to school to become a nurse.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized May 21, 2011. As I took lessons with the missionaries I repeatedly asked myself, how could it be any other way? I had never felt something so true in my heart. The Gospel has brought both confidence and comfort to my life, two things I hadn't previously been acquainted with. Once you fully grasp how much our Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us, there is no denying His love. I feel it every single day. I know that He wants the best for me and in order to have the best I must follow the teachings of Christ and his example to the best of my ability. We are only human. We will all make mistakes. We will all feel hopeless and broken at some point. But we don't have to face these trials alone. We have the chance to seek forgiveness. We can receive forgiveness through Christ. Our souls can be healed by Christ.

How I live my faith

I am so blessed to have a calling that allows me to work with the sisters in my ward. I attend a young sinlge adult ward so I am surrounded by other singles. I have the opportunity to serve some really incredible young women. We do our best to help sisters in the ward achieve as much as they can both temporally and spiritually. I love getting to interact with all the sisters. They give me hope and make me want to be a stronger, better person through their examples. We are all daughters of our Heavenly Father. We are all unique and so sacred. The best thing we can do to help each other is to serve. When we do service for those around us, our love for them grows and our hearts expand. Our small acts of kindness can have big impacts on people's lives.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

The best way to know if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true is to simply ask. If you ask with a sincere heart, your Heavenly Father will answer. He wants the best for all of us and he will not keep the truth from you, for our Father in Heaven is not a God of secrets. Sudy the scriptures and ponder them. Try following the commandments that have been given and watch as your life is blessed for doing so. The Holy Ghost will confirm many things to you, both in your heart and in your mind.

Here is a simple step by step instruction on how to know Mormonism is true.

1. Meet with missionaries.
2. Pray to Heavenly Father with real intent and ask something like this, " I want to know if this is Your church, so is this Your church?".
3. READ THE BOOK OF MORMON! Ask God if it is true.
4. Look for an anwser from God. He speaks with us through our thoughts and feelings by the Holy Ghost. Ask the missionaries for more details.
5. Come to church to see for yourself.
6. Keep the commandments that the missionaries teach you.
7. Repeat until answer is received.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

How could we ever hope for anything if it weren't for the grace offered by our Saviour Jesus Christ?

God is just - which means His laws are just. They are eternal. This means that His dealings towards us will always be just, but it also means that He exacts justice from us, His children. Regardless of the commandment or law, justice demands a recompense for obedience, but also a punishment (or consequence) for disobedience.

Jesus Christ has paid for these trespasses, and He willingly extends that payment to each one who earns or deserves it. This grace is awarded based on our repentance, a change of heart so profound, we abandon the desire to repeat the offense.

That is grace: forgiveness (meaning: not having to suffer ourselves for our own mistakes and disobedience) which follows sincere repentance. What an incredible gift!
