Im a full time student. I currently in school to become a teacher. I love the out doors. I love any kind of photography. I love spending quality time with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a memeber of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am a daughter of our Heavenly Father. I know that he loves me and that he sent his son Jesus Christ to come to this earth and die for me. I know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ we can be saved and live again. I love my Savior! I know that miracles happen through the power of the priesthood. Im richely blessed to have a family full of priesthood holders who honor the convenants that they have made with our Heavenly Father. I know Heaven Father puts trails in our paths to make a stronger. Hes always with us no matter what happens in our lives, we need to turn our hearts to him and obey his commandments that he has given us so that we can follow his foot steps.
I know that a 14 year old boy named Joseph Smith wanted to find the true church of god and that he went and prayed. I know and have faith that Joseph saw a light decending from heaven and two personages came to him. I know that our Heavenly Father called Jospeh by name pointing to Christ saying "This is my Beloved Son, Hear him". I believe that the book of Mormon was translated through Jospeh Smith. I believe in the plan of happiness! I know that we can live with loved ones who have passed away to join our Heavenly Father in his kingdom. I love this Gospel with all my heart might mind and strength.
I know this to be true with out a doubt!

Personal Stories

Why do Mormons go on missions?

Mormons go on missions to share testimonies of the gospel of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They teach about the restoration of the gospel. They also teach others about Jospeh Smith and what he did for our church and how much faith it took for one person to do what he did. They also testify of Christ and all that he did and will do for us if we have faith and obey his commandments. Men and women in the church have the choice to serve the lord and then when the time is right they will be sent to where the Lord needs them.

How I live my faith

I am currently the ward historian in my singles ward. I love to and get to take pictures at events! It gives me a great opportunity to meet people and be a missionary! I have also served in many callings in my youth such as Beehive, Miamaid, Laural counclers as well as the presidents of those age groups. I have also been class president in my high school seminary class. I also served on my stake youth councle. I have a special place in my heart for these callings. They have given me an opportunity to become a leader and I have learned so much about my self through these callings.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was a great man and we revere him as such because of the great and important things he accomplished. We do not worship Joseph Smith or serve him. We study about his life, because of the great significance of Joseph Smith's first vision and the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the priesthood authority. It is a series of remarkable historical events.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Rochester, New York on a business trip and I found time to visit the nearby town of Palmyra and the Sacred Grove. I was able to see and study and review the circumstances surrounding the events and experiences of Joseph Smith. This was no chance happening or coincidence.

We worship Our Heavenly Father and His Son, the resurrected Lord, Jesus Christ.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Well, the Bible hasn't always existed, at least not in it's present form. The Old Testament is a collection of writing from ancient prophets and the New Testament is a collection of Christ's followers and apostles. Think about this, for thousands of years, God revealed truth about the purpose of life and direction of how we should live. Why, then did it stop?

After the Ascension of Christ into heaven, his Apostles carried on: teaching, building the church, acting under the authority of Christ. Not long into the growth of this newly founded church, others felt they knew better than these men (both in and out of the new Christian faith). Many leaders rejected the teaching of Paul and the other apostles (or at least distorted their meaning and intent) and taught things they found to be pleasing to their followers. This rejection/dstortion is called the Great Apostasy. It led to the death of the apostles and the withdrawal of God's authority on the earth. As a result, the Christian world claimed the Canon was closed and that we had all that needed to said from God.

The Restoration literally was the return of God's authority on the earth. We believe that God speaks to man and that the Canon is not closed, nor will it ever be. Revelation is the key to our salvation, because it is the only way we can truly come to know of the redeeming power of our Savior. That is why we needed the Restoration.
