About Me

I have my masters degree in Educational leadership. I am a former elementary school teacher. I now work with my husband in our company which supports law firms using technology in litigation. My greatest accomplishment is raising six amazing children. I love being outdoors running, being indoors decorating and being anywhere with family.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my savior Jesus Christ and I know he loves me. He knows my joys, my heartaches, my strengths and my weeknesses. He is the one constant source of peace and light in this ever changing world of fears and unknowns. It is through sincere prayer and studying and pondering the Book of Mormon that I have come to know, without any doubt, that the Book of Mormon is exactly what it purports to be, another testament of Jesus Christ. It has become a source of eternal truth, light and peace in my life. The gospel of Jesus Christ is my GPS system that gives me direction through this mortal experience. Obeying the commandments of Christ and following His example is my guide to lasting happiness and peace. There is nothing sweeter in this life than to feel the Saviors unconditional love for me. I cherish it and my testimony of Him, who is the only true source of eternal joy. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true restored gospel of Jesus Christ here upon the earth in these latter days.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always being ready to help others and serve in whatever capacity I am asked. I have worked with the youth of the church, the women of the church and community and presently am working with the 3 year olds. I'm especially blessed to be working with a sweet, beautiful daughter of God that was born with Down Sydrome. Her spirit is so strong inside her little body. She has the most beautiful smile that is contagious. I love the children and they teach me each week as we learn together.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

We absolutely believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. We believe that He was the God of the Old Testament. Under the direction of the Father, He created the earth. He spoke to the Old Testament prophets such as Noah, Abraham and Moses. He was born to the virgin Mary in Bethlehem. He walked among the people of Palestine, working many mighty miracles. He suffered and died for our sins. He rose from the grave and ascended to Heaven to stand on the right hand of the Father. We believe that He appeared alongside the Father to the prophet Joseph Smith. Today, He is at the head of our church and leads it through the prophet and twelve apostles. He will come again to reign upon the earth with all those who have faith in Him. Through Him, and Him alone, we can be forgiven for our sins and receive eternal live in the Kingdom of God.

Jesus Christ is the Savior of all humankind, the Son of the Living God, the Messiah, the holy and anointed one of Israel, and He lives today to guide and lead us back to our Heavenly Father.

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

As is recorded in Matthew 10:5, the Lord said to His Apostles "Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not..." Later the resurrected Lord told the same Apostles "...Ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." (Acts 1:8) This is not an example of any variableness or a shadow of turning (See James 1:17) but is ever more evidence of His wisdom and foreknowledge in executing His designs.
Some who wish to attack the Church think they find hypocrisy or guile in the fact that the Church did not allow men of African descent to hold the Priesthood until 1978. There is nothing contrary to the pattern of God in this. For decades and decades before the 2nd Official Declaration righteous men and women of African heritage were baptized into the Church and fold of God with the full promise and testimony that they would be denied no blessings in the worlds to come. Then, when the time was fully come, and as had been predicted by prophets previously, the Lord inspired His prophet to extend the full blessings of the Church in this life to all worthy members. This could well be one of the happiest days of this era.
Whether in this dispensation or any other anyone who is uncharitable to another due to their race is in direct defiance of the Gospel of Christ, who is Savior to "black and white, bond and free, male and female" (See the Book of Mormon, 2nd Nephi 26:33.)
