I'm a Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend to many. I like almost all people I meet. I enjoy life and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a seasoned husband and father with five kids whose ages run from 9-29. I love having kids in my house even when they are borrowed. They are always trying to figure out the dramas of life and every age has its challenges.

I work in the oil and gas/ chemical industry for a Belgium based company and find myself on the road monthly. I like the people I get to meet but would prefer to do turkey sandwiches and Ugg slippers at home if I had my choice. Home is the most peaceful place in the world.

I am married to a beautiful blond with penitrating brown eyes that captured my heart many years ago while we were both working in Yellowstone National Park. She has been my rock and continually tries to coach and assist me to becoming a better person, husband, father and friend.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was nine, my father died. I didn't like that and had to grow up quickly addressing questions of mortality. The stories of Jesus took on more substance than Sunday School stories. I accepted the concept that Jesus is our Savior and offers us a wonderful gift. The teachings of this church are intended to remind us who we were before we came to this mortal existance and how to navigate this world of trials exercising agency to take advantage of Christ's offering to us.

The focus on personal revelation through sincere prayer. A pure and simple concept.

Heavenly Father is not that far away from us and has told us He will answer prayers, but we need to exercise faith and ask.

Answers to those fundemental questions of where, why and how are available to all not though someone else but personally by asking Father in Christ's name.

Personal Stories

How has attending Church services helped you?

Attending church allows me to learn how to apply the teachings of the gospel in my daily life from others with a diferrent set of experiences. My fovorite is to hear the testimonies of the young and the very old......those older than me. I love feeling the Holy Spirit give me that warm/familar feeling that it is true!

What has helped develop greater harmony in your home?

I have learned that my wife is 'wired' differently than I am. She processes data in a different way. I am very 'functional' very ' A to B'. For her it has to feel 'right'. It took me a long time to understand and learn (I am slow) but now when she says it 'doesn't feel right'. I stop until it does.

I has brought harmony to our home and she is 'right' more times than not. I believe women have been given greater insight/training in certain areas than men have.

Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?

That we are all related in a spiritual sense, all children of a Father in Heaven that loves us and wants us to grow and progress. That we can be together as Families forever if we live lives worthy of such a blessing.

Why/How do you share the gospel with your friends?

It brings long to joy and happiness in a world full of noise and action.

How I live my faith

Saint Francis is reported to have said, 'bear a testimony everyeday, and if you have to, use words'!

As people, we are what we truely believe. Be kind, friendly, treat others as you would like to be be treated, help, mentor, teach, be willing to learn from all, be patient. Look for the best in people. Don't take offense where non was meant. Limit your association with those that are self centered, absorbed or so driven they will compromise moral values.....but never give up on them because they also get to experience life.

Be wise, learn from past experiences and vicariously from others.

Enjoy the diferent perspectives of others as they are spirit chrildren of God.

Finally, I talk with those close to me and pray and listen alot.

Who was Joseph Smith?

A young man that was choosen to be a modern day prophet by Heavenly Father. Through him the ancient church was reestablished through restored priesthood authority. See Amos 3:7 in the Old Testiment.

Over my lifetime, I have heard countless theories concerning Joseph Smith - his intellect, his integrity, his sanity, everything about him. Some of the stories about him being a prophet sounded convincing... but then, some of the stories of him as a criminal sounded convincing, too. Then I read about Joseph Smith's visitation by the angel Moroni. Moroni told him that his name would be "had for good and evil among all nations, kindreds, and tongues, or that it should be both good and evil spoken among all people." Well, that was certainly a true prophecy. So, it seemed, whether Joseph Smith was a prophet or not, tons of accusations and slander would be said against him anyway! That realization made me understand that only God could confirm whether or not Joseph was truly called of him. I got a strong confirmation of that truth. When others tell me that they "know the truth about the Joseph Smith," I always question their sources - it's usually a book or magazine article, possibly even by an esteemed, intellectual person. But I cannot and will not question my source of the real answer.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

B. You could go to the link on mormon.org that says "request the missionaries"
C. You could go to the link that says " Find a Church" and come visit us. We all would be more than happy to meet you to and explain why this message is so important for all of us.
