Joel: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Joel

I am a multi-sport athlete and I love all sports. I'm proud to be a Mormon.

About Me

I am always involved in sports, whether that be participating in school, or watching friends and family in their activities. My favorite sport is baseball and I also play football of which I love as well. It takes a lot of my time and effort and sometimes seems overwhelming but I love it. I enjoy drawing and just doodling on everything.

Despite school being a bother some times, I really do love to go and learn all that I can. I strive to be the best I can be.

I have a family consisting of 2 wonderful parents married in the Temple, an older sister, and 4 siblings younger than me. A brother, who is actually taller than me, a sweet sister, a brother who loves to have fun, and the cutest girl who acts older than she is. I love them all dearly and love just being with them.

I have tremendous respect for the women in my life. They all are wonderful and I can't repay them all enough.

I have actually had the opportunity to meet with the prophet of the Church in 2 separate occasions. He is such a sweet (and tall) man and has the aura of the Lord with him.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon since birth. My parents have lead me in my testimony of this Restored Gospel and they have set me up great for the problems the world throws my way. For a portion of my life, I had to rely on my parents testimony but as I have matured I have come to an understanding and gained the knowledge that the Mormon faith is the only completely true church. It is the same church Jesus Christ had while on this Earth and he is still the leader of this church. There was a time when that complete truth was taken from the Earth, called the Great Apostasy, wherein there were parts missing from the whole truth. Then, the prophet Joseph Smith came along. As a 14 year old, he had the desire to know the truth among the chaotic world of religion at the time. He prayed to God to find out which church was right. He was visited by God and His son, Jesus Christ. He was answered that none of the churches were the true and correct one. Through Joseph Smith, he brought about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Otherwise known as the Mormon church. With that, came the Book of Mormon. This book is another testament of Jesus Christ. The Bible is true and we do believe and learn from it, but there are pieces missing in it. That is where the book of Mormon comes in. It fills those questions with answers directly from God.

Personal Stories

Why do Mormons go on missions?

It is important for other people to hear the great message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It gives others the opportunity to hear that message that will dramatically change your life for the better. It is obviously a choice as to accept the message or not, but if you do, your life will be one that God approves.

How I live my faith

The world places a lot of temptation and hardships in our way, but with God it can be overcome. It is difficult to live the standards in this world wherein the standards are falling very quickly. I am strengthened by my fellow members of the Mormon church who set great examples for me. I hold the Aaronic Priesthood of God which gives me keys to help in the building of God's kingdom on Earth, aka the Church. It is my calling as a Priesthood bearer to take care and watch over the church. I would define the Priesthood as God's power on Earth to invite people to hear the glorious message of the Mormon Church. As a member, I visit families of the area in our church to create friendships and have the Spirit of God felt by those families. Despite living the Faith I have may be hard, it is possible and can be done through service to others and living the basic standards set forth by the leadership of our Church.
