Robert Baddley: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Robert Baddley

I live in Washington State. I attend at South Kitsap High-school.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Robert. Currently I am a junior in high school. I am 16. I have had a lot of eventful things happen in my life. Before moving to Washington State, I lived in Iowa for about 9 years. I know, what a boring state... What people don't know is that since the towns are so small, there is a lot of freedom. I haven't always been Mormon, I used to be Catholic. The spirit works fast, it took my family(those who were with me) less then a month to decide to get baptized. My mother is not Mormon, and the rest of her side of the family. They are Catholic, and are anti-Mormon. I still love visiting my mother, when opportunity provides itself. While visiting her I have been to states such as California, Iowa, Minnesota, Kanas, and now she lives in Sipan. Some day I hope to covert her to the gospel of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, I know it will take some time. In August of 2006 I lost my sister, being only 7 at the time. This was a very hard loss for the family, but hoped raised when we found out we could see her again. I love my family, and strive to be the best I can be. I know mistakes will come, I just need to grow from them.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a convert to the gospel of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints in August of 2005. My brother was the first to become interested in the missionary discussions, then my step mother, and so forth. I was one the last ones to take interest in the gospel. I am glad that I did though, because otherwise I wouldnt have the joy I have today. It took the family about a month to be baptized. I have a very strong testimony of this gospel and the truth it carries. I know this gospel is true. We have a modern day prophet on the earth today, to help guide us in these later days. Jospeh Smith was visited by our Heavenly Father and his beloved son Jesus Christ in his first vision. I find his testimony to be true, along with all of his teachings. The book of Mormon was translated by the power of God. The priesthoods have been restored to the earth today. The temples we have on the earth today, are houses of God, and are places we have to do ordainces. All to fullfil Gods work. I know our Heavenly Father knows each one of us personally, and knows what trials we need to go through to become like him. I have made my fair share of mistakes. I won't go into detail of my sins, just that I have needed the atonement in my life. If it were not for my elder brother Jesus Christ and his sacrifice, I would be damned. I am so greatful for my savior.

Personal Stories

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I firmly believe that all of us have divine talents and gifts that God has bestowed upon us. We should use these gifts and talents to help bless others, and be the best example we ought to be. A gift and blessing from God that I have is my testimony, and love. Yeah I know, a lot of guys say that I am to soft. Honestly, I don't care. I care about each and every person I meet. Even if I don't know the person all that well; I would do anything that would help uplift him/her. My testimony is probably the greatest influence I have. Through out my whole life, even before I converted to being Mormon, I have had a solid testimony of my savior, and his love for me. I will share my testimony and my love to any person, if they will just give me the opportunity. My testimony grows everyday, in my actions, my thoughts, and my trails. When ever someone is having a hard time, don't be afraid to go to your savior, Jesus Christ. He knows you personally, far more then anybody here on earth, even more then yourself. He loves you, and wants you to be happy. He also has a plan for you, a plan of eternal happiness. I will always be there for those who need my help, but there is only so much I can do. Don't be afraid to turn to our elder brother Jesus Christ. He has helped me, and is still helping me everyday. Now he wants you to come to him, so he can help you.

How I live my faith

In being lds as a young man, we have the opportunity to be a boy scout. All of us strive to get our eagles, and to give as much service as we possibly can. I am very close in uptaining my eagle rank. I try to be an example of my faith where ever I am. Though it my be tough to be perfect, which I am not, i enjoy making other lives easier. I try to follow the word of wisedom found in docterine and covenants 89, one of the books we follow by. I believe in all of the 13 articles of faith. I try to think what my savior would do at this moment. If I am in a troublesome situation I like to think of the scripture Alma ch.5 verse.26: "And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?" I like to think of this scripture because it makes me think if I could feel that wonderful spirit that comes when I sing a song of redeeming love. I try to fix my mistakes by helping others.
