Jessica: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Jessica

I'm a high school student, athlete, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest child in a family of seven. I enjoy reading, writing, and sports. I love participating in school sports. I play soccer and run cross-country and track. I am a big fan of running. Cross-country is my favorite sport of all. I want to attend BYU for college and I want to be an author. I want to marry in the temple and have a family of my own.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, so I've worked all my life to build my testimony. The older I get, the more I know that this church is the true church. I would be lost and alone without the gospel. I know my Savior lives and that He has a plan for me. I know if I choose the right, keep the commandments, and love my neighbors, I can live with Him again some day. I love the church so much and the Holy Ghost has testified to me many times that it is true.

Personal Stories

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

I recently took on a challenge of reading the Book of Mormon in six days. Those six days were some of the best days in my life. I felt the spirit constantly and had the strength to resist temptation throughout my school day. This strengthened my testimony and helped me feel closer to God and get to know him better.

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Prayer is a big thing in my life. I say my prayers every night, and try to remember to say them in the mornings also. It helps give me strength throughout the day and I know I can ask God for help with anything in my life. I know that I will receive an answer to every prayer. I know He is always listening and that I can tell him anything.

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

I have found that by doing service to my family members, it helps create a happy, loving environment. Also, just complimenting my family brings the Spirit into my home. If we refrain from insulting or putting down our family members, our relationships can increase greatly.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every Sunday and participating in Sacrament Meeting. I read my scriptures and say my prayers. I enjoy learning more and more about the gospel every day.
