Hi, I'm Megan
I am a mom to three girls, a vocal coach. Married to my best friend. I love my life. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a stay at home mom during the day to three young, smart and very active girls under the age of 5 and vocal instructor in the evenings. I love singing and especially performing! My husband is also a musician. Music is a large part of our who we are and as our girls get older they have begun embracing it as well.
I am a people person. I love to meet new people and stay in contact with old friends. I am not afraid of speaking to people I don't know. I have always learned so much by going out of my way to talk to a stranger. Surrounding myself with good people has always made me a better one.
I am a goal setter. I am one of those weird people that get up around 4:30 or 5:00 in the morning so I can exercise, read, clean, etc. just so I can accomplish the goals I have before my day gets busy and those goals go by the wayside. I get such a great feeling when I accomplish my goals!
I love my family. I grew up in a family of seven. All though we had our share of trials we loved each other and to this day maintain a very close relationship. Family is everything to me and because of this I strive daily to make my own family and home a place of love, happiness and fun! I have found recently that my five year old has developed a acute sense of humor and I love that.
Why I am a Mormon
I love being a mormon. I grew up in the church. My dad's family has been members of the church for generations. My mom, however, joined the church with her family when she was thirteen. I have grown up with stories of her conversion that have aided me in my understanding of the church.
I am a mormon today because I absolutely love what this church teaches. I love to study the Bible as well as The Book of Mormon. From studying these books I have learned to be a better wife, mother, and friend. When life gets hard I find peace, understanding and even happiness from reading these books. When life is easy I love reading them for daily guidance.
I love my family. They are everything to me and the fact that this church teaches that our families can be together forever and not just "until death do you part", is huge! I can't imagine not being with my husband and children when we die. It is such a security and peace to know that we will always be together.
I am a mormon because I love my Savior, Jesus Christ! He means everything to me and all I want to do is please Him by following His example. The church teaches that it is the same church that Jesus Christ established when He lived on earth. Through my experiences and personal studying of the Bible and The Book of Mormon I know it is.
We have a living prophet today who leads and guides this church. I have listened and applied his words several times and have always felt greater peace and happiness. How grateful I am for him.
How grateful I am for this church. This, and many other reasons, is why I am a mormon.
How I live my faith
I strive to live my faith in everything that I do. For example, I take time daily to read my scriptures, say morning and evening prayers with my family, serve others around me whether it be watching my neighbors kids for free so she can have some time for herself or stopping to talk to a stranger at the park who is looking a little down. I strive to live like this because I want to do my best and follow the example of my Savior. He served, taught and loved those around Him. Why shouldn't I do the same?
We attend church every Sunday as a family. I love this time because I am taught from the scriptures and church leaders. The church teaches a lot on the family and the importance of it. As a family we have a special night once a week where we spend extra time with each other doing fun activities and learning from the scriptures.
The church is a very service oriented church. I have served as a teacher to the youth, organized service projects for over 300 people, been asked to teach music to the young children or even to teach the Sunday School adult class. I am who I am today because of the many opportunities I have been given to serve others.
