About Me

I am a work from home mother of 4. I shoot photography professionally and have owned my own business(es) for over 15 years. I love being friends with my kids, chatting with them about their lives, and playing games with them. My husband is very good with kids and our family loves to camp at the beach, go on bike rides, and eat out on the back patio. We also love to bake at our house.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the church and am so grateful to have had wonderful parents who brought me up in a healthy and enriching environment. I gained my own testimony for the gospel when I was a teenager and decided I needed to really know for myself if this was the true church. The answer to my prayers was simple, sweet, and yet undeniable. Being a member of Christ's church provides me peace in my life. I have a sure knowledge of where I came from and where I am going, and that is priceless. I also know that I am never alone, and that the trials that I do go through teach me and help me to grow and progress. I have experienced true joy through my faith in Christ and my membership in His church.

How I live my faith

In my church group, I am a leader for activities for girls ages 8 and 9. My own daughter is in this group, and so it is so fun to be her leader too. We do activities twice a month that teach them homemaking skills, and also how to live the gospel of Christ more fully. I love my job in the church! The girls are so sweet and it is so fun to be able to work with them!

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes, family relationships go beyond the grave. When we choose to be married in the temple, we are not only married for this life, but sealed to be together as husband and wife forever, and our children are sealed to us as well.

When I was in middle school, a terrible car accident took the life of 1 brother who was 21, and 1 sister who was 15. It was a tragedy for not only our family but our whole community. We missed school for an entire week to be able to mourn, have personal time and have the funeral. I remember when I went back to school and some of my friends who were not members of my church asked how in the world was I coping so well. They imagined my loss would be so devastating, that I would be in depression and just crying all the time. I thought about that a lot. But, because I knew that the Lord has given us a plan and that there is not only life after death, but that we are sealed to our family forever, it was much easier for me to cope with their loss. I miss them. I miss the fact that they aren't here raising their families with my other siblings and I. But I know that I will see them again, and that we are sealed to be a family forever. I am so grateful.

When married by earthly power and the authority of man, our vows are "Until death do you part."

We believe that families can be together forever as part of our Heavenly Father's Great Plan of Happiness. His Work and His Glory is to bring to pass the exaltation and eternal life of man. He wants us to be even as He is and to return home to live with Him again.

Through the ordinances of his Holy Temples, God's son's and daughter's are able to make covenants. Through the power of His Holy Priesthood, be sealed together for all of time and eternity as Husband and Wife, parents and children.

Families were designed and instituted by God with the intent that they be forever. The love we feel in this life does not need to be cut off when we die. Those who have already died are not lost us forever. God has mercifully made a way by which all who would accept these saving ordinances can do so, living or dead.

We perform these ordinances for those who have in the past died so that they may have the opportunity of accepting them on the other side if they so choose to do so.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Grace is a gift from Heavenly Father given through His Son, Jesus Christ. The word grace, as used in the scriptures, refers primarily to enabling power and spiritual healing offered through the mercy and love of Jesus Christ.

Everyone on earth experiences physical death. Through the grace of Jesus Christ, all will be resurrected and will live forever.

Because of personal choices, everyone also experiences the effects of sin. These effects are called spiritual death. No one can return to the presence of God without divine grace. Through the Atonement, we all can be forgiven of our sins; we can become clean before God. To receive this enabling power, we must obey the gospel of Jesus Christ, which includes having faith in Him, repenting of our sins, being baptized, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and trying to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ for the rest of our lives.

The grace of God helps us every day. It strengthens us to do good works we could not do on our own. The Lord promised that if we humble ourselves before Him and have faith in Him, His grace will help us overcome all our personal weaknesses.
