About Me

Hello, I am a wife and mother. Me and my husband have been together 15 years total and we have a 14 year old daughter. I am a college graduate with a Bachelors degree in Criminal justice and investigation. i am currently an at home mom looking for work. I am a non-smoker and really dislike it greatly. My hobbies and interests are a little vast. Some are a little gardening, reading, cooking, art, different cultures, computer and video games, design, animals, music, movies, photography, family, and friends. Some I have gotten really well in others are a work in progress. Lol I am a little reserved at times because I like to read people and I can be shy and I have to be approached first in a conversation if I feel any discomfort or hesitation. Once people get to know me they see me as an all around good person with a get it done type of personality who they seem to tell all their thoughts and troubles too. I have always been told I would be a good therapist. I am always looking for people that I can have as lifelong friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I got into the church years ago when I was looking for a comfortable place to be. Other churches seemed to not fit me. I had a ton of questions and this church seemed to be the closest to being able to answer them. I felt comfortable and welcome.

How I live my faith

I am new to the current ward so I really don't participate much yet. We do help out the missionaries a little when we can. I hope later on to have callings and be able to help the church out more and get to know more members.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

We believe that God loves all of His children and that none of us are mistakes. Earth life is a time for us to meet challenges and overcome our weaknesses as we rely on the Lord. We are all unique, and so it makes sense that different people have different challenges. Just because one challenge seems harder than another, that doesn't limit God's ability to help us understand and overcome it.

As disciples of Christ, we are to love everyone and look for the goodness in everything. The family is central to God's plan. Marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and this relationship allows us to grow closer to God. Marriage is more about what you can offer and sacrifice for your spouse than for what you can receive out of it.

I have a testimony of the "The Family: A Proclamation to the World." It is scripture because it is the word of God coming to us through an inspired Prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley, prior President of the Church, and living Apostles. It clearly states, “We believe that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God." As long as a person abstains from homosexual relations and cultivates wholesome thoughts, they worthy before God. The Church does not and will not ever condone "gay bashing." I see same-sex attraction as a special challenge to overcome in this life, and not a curse. God loves all of his children unconditionally, but that does not mean that He condones sexual relations outside the bounds of a legal marriage between a man and a woman. I bear my witness that the Atonement made by Jesus Christ is not only has the power to save us from physical death and redeem us from sin, but it also the power to transform our lives. As we yield ourselves to Christ and seek to do his will, we will find the grace and healing to deal with whatever challenges or circumstances life deals to us.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Our decision to serve missions is motivated by our belief in the Gospel and our desire to fulfill the Savior's command to "preach the gospel to every creature" Mark 16:15. The Gospel teaches us that we are all sons and daughters of God, and so we feel a kinship with all of God's children and a desire to help them enjoy the peace in this life that the Gospel provides.Our missionaries are not salesman and won't take much of your time, but I know that your decision to invite them into your home will change your life for good!
