Robert: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Robert

I grew up in Arizona. I am a husband, dad, grandpa, son and brother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the Lord, my wife and my family. My family is my main hobby and I try to devote as much free time as I can to them. I am lucky to have a great son and daughter, as well as a wonderful son-in-law and two grandchildren. At 47, I think I am pretty young for a grandpa, although I don't always feel young after playing with the two little dynamos for awhile - but it is still my favorite thing to do!

I am a CFO for an automotive retailer and love the challenge of coordinating financial reporting, IT systems, human relations, operating issues, etc. I have a college degree from Arizona State University (go Sun Devils!) I used to race in sprint trathlons but gave them up 5 years ago due to time constraints. I still love to eat, though...maybe that's why I'm 20 pounds heavier :) I love a variety of different types of music, from Memphis Blues to Classical Mozart, with some pretty good helpings of classic rock and contemporary alternative sprinkled in there as well. I also really enjoy reading, movies, racquetball, playing chess and helping people.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Mormon church and the people in it, because it focuses on our Savior, Jesus Christ who I strive to emulate in all that I do. Our church is also very family focused. Aside from our Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus, nothing is as important as the family, and the church continually reinforces this through great youth programs and family-oriented teachings and activities. I also like the Church's emphasis on loving and serving everyone, regardless of their religious affiliation.

How I live my faith

I pray often to the Lord, seeking His guidance. As Bishop of our Ward, I try to stay in touch with the needs of the congregation and the community. Most importantly, I try to be as Christ-like as I can (knowing I fall far short of our perfect Savior) so that I may positively influence those I come into contact with each day.
