I grew up in Washington State. I am a Ham Radio operator. I have been an in-home care provider. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have 3 older brothers and 2 older sisters and I have a younger twin sister, all of whom I love dearly. I have 16 amazing neices and nephews that i love with all my heart.
I love to read and have read just about anything I care to pick up, from the Series of Unfortunate Events to almost every thing by Micheal Crichton. My favorite book series is the "Tennis Shoes Adventure Series" by Chris Heimerdinger- the "to be continued's" always leave me hanging!! I read alot during my free time, that or watch tv.
I am a big time "Doctor Who" fan, thanks to my older siblings getting me interested.
Basically anything SYFI, that isn't super violent, I love it!

I also enjoy helping my mom with her bountiful baskets distribution site on saturday mornings.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my whole life, but i know that this truly is Christ's restored gospel on the Earth. i know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know because of how i feel when I read it. I know that God loves me and he knows me by name.
I am a member because this gospel just makes sense and it makes me truely HAPPY.
I am a "mormon" because of the knowledge that the Book of Mormon gives us about Heavenly Father's plan for us that has been taken out of the Bible. there is so much about His plan that other religions don't know!! it makes me so sad to think that other religions believe that we won't know our families after we die! That is why i'm out here on my mission- to help people come to know that wonderful precious truth that families can truely be Families, Forever!

Personal Stories

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?

i didn't really under stand how important the Plan of Happiness was until October 1st 2005-when my life changed in a very big way. My older brother was killed in a motorcycle accident, he left behind a pregnant wife and 2 young sons.
If i didn't know about Heavenly Father's Plan for us- this life would be pointless. i wouldn't know that my family can be together forever, i wouldn't know why we do baptisms for the dead.
I know that Heavenly Father loves us and that he has provided a way for us to return to live with him again.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full-time mission in the South Carolina Columbia Mission, teaching others about how Christ has restored his gospel to the earth.
When i'm not being a missionary, I try to still be that sort of example for others, because we are supposed to "be an example of the believers in word and in deed."

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Through the blessings of the gospel and promises we make in the temple we can be sealed together for time and all eternity.
I know that because my parents were married in the temple that my family can be together forever if we live worthy of that blessing.
I know that i will be able to be with my brother again and that if i live the way i should and do all that i can to follow the example of my Savior Jesus Christ that i will get to live with my family forever.

When married by earthly power and the authority of man, our vows are "Until death do you part."

We believe that families can be together forever as part of our Heavenly Father's Great Plan of Happiness. His Work and His Glory is to bring to pass the exaltation and eternal life of man. He wants us to be even as He is and to return home to live with Him again.

Through the ordinances of his Holy Temples, God's son's and daughter's are able to make covenants. Through the power of His Holy Priesthood, be sealed together for all of time and eternity as Husband and Wife, parents and children.

Families were designed and instituted by God with the intent that they be forever. The love we feel in this life does not need to be cut off when we die. Those who have already died are not lost us forever. God has mercifully made a way by which all who would accept these saving ordinances can do so, living or dead.

We perform these ordinances for those who have in the past died so that they may have the opportunity of accepting them on the other side if they so choose to do so.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The word of wisdom is the Lord's law of health. We abstain from drugs, tobacco, alcohol, coffee, and tea, and are encouraged to eat wholesome food and grains, and not eat excessive meat. I am asked all of the time by my fellow residents at the hospital why I don't drink coffee, and how I can stay awake all night on call without it. I don't consider it a sacrifice, though, and am as awake and perform as well as any. It is true that the body will be more healthy when following the word of wisdom, the but the main benefit is spiritual. The knowledge that you are in line with the the Lord's teaching is the most important thing.
