About Me

I was born on the East Coast. I've been playing the violin since I was 6 years old. I love having fun and goofing around with my friends. You'll often find me belting our a song for no apparent reason. I LOVE the church, and the friends that I make there.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I LOVE Jesus! There isn't a church that teaching about the kinder side of Jesus like ours does!

How I live my faith

I participate in lots of youth activities, and I am VERY involved in music with the church. Currently, I play in my Stake Orchestra which totally rocks.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. "Worship" is reserved for members of the Godhead: Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. Worship means giving absolute devotion, adoration, and submission to someone, and only God is worthy of receiving true worship. God said "Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Exodus 20:3)" So what do we think about Joseph Smith? He was a mortal man called by God to serve as a prophet, and he was a great prophet. We love Joseph Smith, we study his teachings, and we are grateful for the work he did. But we do not worship him any more than we worship Moses, Elijah, Isaiah, Peter, or any other prophet. Absolutely not! We worship God and Jesus Christ, our Savior. Joseph Smith was a great man, and we respect him as a prophet of God, but respect and worship are not the same. He was called by God to restore important knowledge that had been lost from the earth, and he was faithful in his calling throughout his life. We place emphasis on Joseph Smith because he did so much good while he was on the earth. He was a modern day Moses, and was God's mouthpiece when he lived. After Joseph Smith was killed, another man, Brigham Young, was called as the prophet of the earth. This succession of prophets has continued through today to the current prophet, Thomas S. Monson.
