Julie: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Julie

I grew up in Arizona. I'm a wife & mother of 6 kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to sing and play the piano. I enjoy exercising and playing with my children. I am an artist and love to paint and draw portraits and murals. I also like scrapbooking and decorating the house. I graduated from ASU in Studio Art: Drawing & Painting. I was a cheerleader in High School and taught cheer and gymnastics for many years afterward. I worked for America West Airlines after college in Reservations and Training, but after my 3rd child made the decision to stay home full time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it gives me direction in my life. The gospel helps me know how to raise my children and gives me the peace of mind and promise that if we are faithful, we can return to live with Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and all my family again after we die. It also helps me overcome challenges and find joy and peace in this world through my Savior. I know that he suffered and died for me and that He now lives. I know He loves me and wants to help me with whatever I'm struggling with. I know He answers prayers and allows us to experience hardships so we can learn to be a better person and rely on Him more fully.

Personal Stories

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I was blessed with the gift of music. I have worked very hard to develop my talents of singing and playing the piano. These gifts have allowed me to bless others as I sing in our church, whether by myself or with the choir, and as I play the piano for the children's choir by bringing the Spirit of the Lord to our meetings. I believe when the Lord said "the song of the righteous is a prayer unto me" and that we can "pray always" as we sing throughout the day and for others. Singing brings great joy and peace as I go about my day and as I encourage my children to choose the right.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying and studying the scriptures daily to find help and strength throughout my day. I also visit with other women every month to talk about gospel principles and help and encourage them with what they need. Every Sunday, I get to feel the Spirit as I play the piano for the children's group (ages 3-11) as they learn songs about Jesus. As a mom, I live my faith by teaching my children to pray and study the scriptures for help in their life, too. I also teach them that they are children of God and to treat others as such. We encourage studying the Savior's life and following His example as well as many others from the scriptures. I enjoy the feeling of love and hope I receive as I serve others.
