Allie: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Allie

I'm a student, athlete, and a humanist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm Allie. I come from a family of five-Mom, Dad, and two sisters. We grew up in Virginia but now we call Oregon home. I love my family.
I'm a second year at a small liberal arts school in Washington state. I'm interested in social issues and am pursuing a degree in communications. I love art and I paint in my free time.
I also love sports and I play on the women's basketball team here at school. We go hard :).

Why I am a Mormon

My parents taught me to be open to diversity and new things. I was raised agnostic and began my search for truth in high school. I looked into a number of Christian denominations and God led me to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through the example of my best friend, a faithful member.
The restored gospel resonated with me; when hearing the plan of salvation for the first time it rang true. I was baptized at age 19, and it has been the best and most important decision I have ever made. Heavenly Father's blessings for those who love Him are without end. I'm a Mormon because I love God and Jesus Christ, and I am following them and serving them the best way I know how.
Living the gospel helps us in this life and after we die. It makes me happy and gives me a source of strength. After this life, God has made it possible for us to live together with our families and with Him forever. I know that God loves me and has provided a way for me to return to him. I am so thankful for this perfect plan of happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a friend to whoever I can! The more I learn about this life the more I want to be like Christ by loving and serving my fellow man. I love going to church to strengthen my testimony and learn about the gospel. I helped organize activities for the young single adults at my last congregation, or ward. It was a blessing to be able to serve others by helping build a sense of community. Now I'm a ward missionary where I am blessed to help teach and introduce people to the Church of Jesus Christ.
