Bob: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Bob

I grew up in North Carolina, went to school at NC State University and have lived in 6 states since I left my home & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a chemist/engineer at a flooring manufacturer in north Georgia. I have worked in the Carpet industry for over 30 years and have enjoyed learning how to make the products more customer friendly using easy care finishes such as anti-microbial, stain, soil, & even bleach resistant products. I enjoy playing golf, bowling, and walking my dog. I have especially enjoyed learning more about how to serve my neighbors, community, family & friends as I have grown older and less self centered.

Why I am a Mormon

I learned about the church from some very nice young men who dedicated 2 years of their life to missionary work. They helped me learn about how to feel and recognize the Holy Spirit, and to appreciate family. I was then able to have an interest in having a family of my own. I joined the church because I felt the Holy Spirit in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints more than I have ever felt any where else. I also felt the true love of those members so much that it felt right to join this great and wonderful organization that has been restored for all mankind. The leaders of this church volunteer their time and efforts to help each and every one of us to progress in this earthly presence so that we can be with our love ones forever. I have been so blessed by just following the simple commandments in our scriptures so we can be worthy of having the gift of the Holy Ghost to guide, comfort, and protect us always. I know that I can continue to strive for perfection by following the scriptures and the latter-day prophets and church leaders. I have never been able to have so much happiness prior to joining this church and look forward to the future more now than ever I thought possible.

Personal Stories

What is hope and what do you hope for?

Hope is the evidence of our faith, which gives us positive beliefs that God and His son Jesus Christ have given us this body on earth so we can be tested and strengthened enough to be able to obtain eternal life with our loving family. Faith is a hope for things we cannot see but we know are true because we are given the wonderful witness of the Holy Ghost to be the evidence we need to keep hoping. By following the commandments as much as possible, Heavenly Father is willing to keep our hope alive and blessing us with the lessons we need to teach us all things that are needed to find eternal life through the example of His son Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Since I have joined the church I have had many callings to help serve others. First I was called to help the missionaries in our local area to be more effective, and useful to our local members and community. I have also had the opportunity to visit and assist many families with repairs, moving, and even plumbing. I have been able to serve my community, & neighborhood with joy in my heart because I know it's part of Heavenly Fathers plan for me. I have enjoyed helping others do family history searching, and find employment. I've also been involved with teaching and organizing sunday school classes. Each week we have the opportunity to renew our baptismal covenants by partaking of the sacrament which is a big part of why I can continue to hold on to the guidance and commandments. I enjoy reading the Book of Mormon daily, and it helps me to understand the Holy Bible much better too. I have continued to find my daily regular prayers to become so much more meaningful to me by being more grateful to our Heavenly Father for all He has given me. The blessing of my life are much more meaningful when I focus more time and efforts on serving others and sharing the joy which comes from the light of Jesus Christ who is at the head of this church!!! I enjoy sharing my testimony of the truth of this gospel especially when teaming up with missionaries who are so committed to this work that they can give 2 years full time of hard work to share it with the world around them.
