Cameron Olsen: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Cameron Olsen

I'm a newlywed husband and father of two, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being outdoors either camping or with my horses. I love my family dearly, they are the most important aspect of my life. I recently got married to my beautiful wife and adopted her daughter as my own. I am learning to become a father and a husband all at the same time, and it's a task! I love them with all my heart though. I was born and raised in Mesa, AZ, but lived briefly in Littleton, CO; La Palma, CA; and I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I cannot imagine raising a family in anything other than the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As family is the most important aspect in my life, it is also CENTRAL to the plan of Salvation. As I fulfill my responsibilities at church and attend my church meetings, I am overwhelmed about how the Gospel of Jesus Christ teaches me how to be a better person, not just for myself but also for my family.

Personal Stories

Why do Mormons go on missions?

Why Mormons go on missions is a simply and yet a complex answer. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints asks young men to go on missions to help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every ear. Why the young men choose to go on missions is a more personal reason.
I chose to go on a mission because I wanted to share the testimony and the love that I have for Jesus Christ with those who were not of my faith. I had felt such happiness and joy having grown up in the Gospel, and being taught its principles every day of my life, that I wanted to pass on my joy to everyone who would be willing to listen. Most importantly, I felt that by devoting two years of my life to the Lord, I could, in some tiny way, show my gratitude to my Savior for the many wonderful things he has done for me.

How I live my faith

I am a Sunday School Teacher, asked to teach the 14-15 year old class. I get to share my testimony each week with them as we learn from the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I also live the teachings that I share with my students by honoring, keeping and obeying the commandments that I have been given. I am not perfect, but I do my best each day to make sure that I am living up to the standards that He would want me to.
